Students? Hmm... are you who I think you are?
Anyways, it's no big deal. I'd be mad too if there was some young anime fan who I knew was gonna die way after I do.
And I think it's awesome that you got to meet someone as awesome as Carl Macek, I'd kill a man to meet him. I'm sure you've met plenty of other prominent anime people. Can you tell me what your connection to the voice acting community is?

Who do you think I am? I'm not that worried about my longevity.SovietJedi wrote:Students? Hmm... are you who I think you are?

Actually, there are a few different connections. When I was your age I started helping out at shoebox anime conventions, even served as con staff heads and assistant staff heads at some of the biggest, along with helping to start one. That took my into contact with several. However, a few I knew independently and it just happened they were VAs. One, I happened to know because my best friend's coworker is that VA's wife. I don't watch dubs, and I only half pay attention to subs, so these people are just my friends. I did once get to watch an ADV recording session in Houston (it was Princess Nine). That was interesting.

That was actually 8-Man After on SciFi. The original 8-Man is even older.Nikaido wrote:Mine was 8-Man. When it was played on Sci-Fi channel in the mid 90s. Then my second was the second Galaxy Express 999 movie.

Mine was Pokemon when I was like 7!
Next came Digimon, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Yu-gi-oh[If that counts...]
But the first non kid anime I watched was Inuyasha!
I had no clue what it was and I got kind of freaked out by Shippo!

Same here. I'd run home from school every day to see Sailor Moon, DBZ, and Ronin Warriors.Michele wrote:Sailor Moon, every day when I came home from school it'd star on Toonami.

Re: First anime you ever saw?
I saw my first anime without realizing it was anime. When I was 5 or 6, I used to watch Belle & Sebastian and The Mysterious Cities of Gold, which I loved. I guess my first "official" anime was, like a lot of people, Neon Genesis Evangelion, which came out when I was 15, so I really identified with the characters. Watched a buddy's VHS fansubs :O

I'm pretty sure my first anime was either Voltron or Speed Racer.

Hmm... I guess pokemon if you count that? The first serious anime that I saw, like on adult swim, Cowboy Bebop. I think that cowboy bebop was actually the first anime on adult swim.
