In Soviet Russia, if you don't fight the war dirty, the war fights you.
(Note: Not a derogatory statement, rather one of bitter irony. And avatar whorage. Post-count +1)

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

by the way dieing honorably dosn't mean throwing yoru life away. it just means loosing in fair combat. I don't know ... maybe because i spent 6 years putting up with odds like 12 agaisnt me i have a certain liking towards even match up's where both people have a chance.

8) Why yes I did write that. I have studied various martial arts as well as being a member of the S.C.A. or the Society for Creative Anacronysm. We get into full armor(yes I actually have a suit of armor hanging in my closet) and bash away at each other. We use ratan(think bamboo only solid though still flexible) to make our weapons and literaly go at it for an average of 3 hours straight. It can get very hot so extra water is a must.Jonathan02us wrote:
Did u write that, wow, thats pretty long. And how u kno those moves, u a karate student o something.
Armor, weighing from 45 to 100 pounds depending on the design and material, slows you down immensly.
I originally fought with sword and shield and it was quite fun, although shields are bulky and slow you down.
The biggest factor of all is raw speed. If someone is fighting me with a large two-handed weapon, such as a hammer or greatsword, they have to have an immense amount of strength, skill, and raw experience to have a chance. I currently fight with a Katana-styled weapon, it is fast as hell and your vision is never impared by it as it was when I had a shield.
Dodging is also key. Reaction-based is what its all about: they strike, they miss, you strike as they try to recover.
If you want I can go on, in length, about the Dao of Combat(what little I know that is seeing as how the Dao is unattainable yet, yet must always be strived for).
...no fear no sadness!

whatever art you study make the most of it. Don't fuck around and do the best you can. When i was younger i did Tae kwon-do for 5 years. I Made it up to red blet and got stuck there for almost a year. Then both branches of my school closed, and i've been a red belt since then ... mind you ... when i was a red belt i was no hot shit ... if i ever take the up the art again i'll start from white and probalby put more priority into physical improvment.Jonathan02us wrote: Nice i wanted to learn karate but never did get in. THough a few thigns i'm interested in are Kenpo and Kendo. The only kenpo i've seen was from mortal combat, Sonya uses it and she kicks serious ass with it. Kendo just looks like a lot of fun, but i'd need to do more research and get some kind of an actual schedule before i do anything.

I wouldn't. Most of the martial arts dojos I've been to only teach defensive styles and then after about purple belt it's more about showy tradition and respect of the culture than it is about fighting. I mean I'm all for appreciating the Japanese culture and all, but not when I'm learning how to beat a man to within an inch of of pathetic life. *shrugs*Jonathan02us wrote: Nice i wanted to learn karate but never did get in.
