Bad anime?
Dragonball (et al) REASON: Far too long winded, poor attempts at humour. It does have plot and characterisation, i will admit, but it takes them about a 100 episodes to get it across. Also at points it's not so much 'fight a week' as 'punch a week'.
Zone of the Enders REASON: Crap plot, shoddy animation, bad voice acting, 'nuff said. A pitiful waste of £20 I still curse myself for (I could have brought more EVA!)
Sword for Truth REASON: Sorry, too busy puking.
Yu-Gi-Oh REASON: I could never be arsed to begin to understand the rules of that crazy card game, and I think the series is kinda lost without that...I did think that villain (Maximillian Pegasus?) looked cool, though this might just be becuase of my 'long white haired villain' fetish I picked up playing FF7 for far too long.
G Gundam REASON: Ah, I see, they thought crossing gundam with DBZ would be cool... WRONG! (The animation where that rubber suit thingy pulls across him is pretty class though)
I generally prefer short'ish' anime as well...I think 26 is about the right amount, though I loved Gundam Wing and that was about 50 (and you did need to watch them ALL...I skipped a few once and when I started watching again the government of the world had changed twice and everyone had swapped sides...) The really long ones like Inuyasha, Yu-Gi-Oh etc. also tend to be the most aimed for children, at least in the translation process. The main reason I don't like 'em though is it's pretty much impossible for me to watch them. (Do you know how many episodes there are to an Inuyasha DVD?) It takes me long enough to build up collections of DVD's for the shorters series and OVA....

1. Yu-gi-oh: It's basically Cardcaptor Sakura with a penis..and nowhere near as good as Cardcaptor Sakura.
2. Gayblade
3. Dragonball GT: An insult to DBZ, which I know ain't exactly anyone's cup of nirvana on this site either...
4. Digimon 02: Whoever invented shite characters like Ken and teen T.K must have pumped their own mothers for information literally, horrible season that only developed any semblance of a PLOT in the final five episodes, completly outperformed by the first, third and fourth seasons.

American and Anime shows can be amazing...and they can suck in equal measure, neither is superior to the other.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE PERFECT CARTOON, OR THE PERFECT ANIME, BOTH HAVE POSITVES AND NEGATIVES.

The other 3 season were worth it? I'm kinda surprised. I admit, when I watched it, I liked the characters, especially Matt, but I could think of better stories.
Pokemon is a similar case. Sigh.

I liked the 2nd season, I don't know why though. It was the seasons after it that started to bore me, though season 3 is good.

I think there's nothing worse than when you get a crappy anime based on a really good manga. Example: Real Bout Highschool. I don't know why I didn't mention it before. The manga was great, Ryoko was totally badass, and in the anime they make her act like a total ditz.
In a mad world, only the mad are sane.
