Yes indeed, that it is. I loved it, personally, but I can definitely see how someone looking for plot/action might end up being put off by it.

Among other things at anime club today, I saw an ep of Kodomo no Omocha (aka. Kadocha)

That show is warped. I want to see more, for certain...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I watched more of .hack//DUSK on Cartoon Network. Ugh! What's with the ambigious brother-sister incest between Rena and Shugo? :x

My son came home this weekend and we have been watching Azumanga Daio. That is one very humorous anime. They did a wonderful job on each characters personality. This one may get better as you get older and can look back on your school days and laugh.
I wish I had about six months free to sit down and watch his anime collection. I do have one he hadn't seen or heard of, Garzey's Wing. He agreed that it is in the running for the worst anime of all time. If you wish to have the bad dub that sets the standard for all others, get this one. The little annoying fairy girl was the best caracter and dub in the whole thing, that kind of gives you a clue to it's poor quality.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Just rented the first volume of Gasaraki. So far, I like it. Now comes the grueling task of saving up for the box set (local blockbuster just has the first volume)

Almost finished the meji era of Rurouni Kenshin (not enjoying this era compared to Koyto and wandering samurai)

That's because the creators of the anime didn't want to catch up to the manga so they created the entire filler arc Tales of the Meiji, which was such a failure, it was removed from Japanese TV  . While the filler arc was airing, Nobuhiro Watsuki (creator of Rurouni Kenshin manga) was in the middle of the arc after Kyoto, the Jinchuu Arc. By the time he finished it, the TV series was removed because of low ratings.
RK Ending Spoiler wrote:That's why it ended so suddenly. The last episode never aired in Japan either, because it was removed in the middle of the arc, so they tried to at least end it with that episode on the DVDs. Also, Samurai X - Reflection tried to compensate for everything but also failed IMO.
Anyway, the series I'm currently watching are:

Naruto - Recommended

Yu-Gi-Oh! (Just finished airing and I just finished watching, but the
sequel Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters GX is airing next) - Would recommend, but 224 episodes is a lot, not to mention the fact that 4kids ruined it

Full Metal Alchemist - (Just finshed airing and I just finished watching, but the movie is scheduled to come out in 2005 to continue the series, can't wait) - Highly Recommended

Prince of Tennis - Recommended, but it's currently airing in the 150s  and still going

Saiyuki Reload

Tenjou Tenge

Samurai Champloo - Recommended

Initial D - 4th Stage - Recommended racing anime, but you'd have to watch the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Stages first

And going to watch Samurai 7 soon.

I saw last week's episode of Wolf's Rain and almost wanted to cry, the writing is so powerful. I'm looking forward to seeing it tonight, the last episode is 2 weeks from now, I think, that's supposed to be extremely sad, from what I've heard.
You're lucky... I've decided to let you live to see the day when I will rule the world.

Just to inject a little opinion in this column. I hope I never run out of new Anime to view. I'm constantly looking for something new whenever I finish a series. my collection is ENORMOUS!

The Animes that I'm currently unfinished with....

InuYasha (I've only seen up to Episode 72 and only one Movie.)

Chobits (Finally saw this at an Anime Con and wondered how I could have overlooked this one, particularly given how popular it was in its day!)

Urusei Yatsura (I've got like... 97 Episodes to go and three more movies. They're hard to find anywhere, even at Cons.)

Azumanga Daioh (I never thought cuteness could also be so hilarious! I'm up to volume four as they are released in the U.S. currently.)

Kiddy Grade (Keiji Gotoh's most outstanding work since Nadesico! I'm up to Episode 19.)

Miami Guns (I highly recommend this to you comedy Anime lovers out there! This series is almost as out of its mind as Excel Saga and you'll appreciate the simultaneous parodies of both Japanese AND American entertainment industries!)

Chrono Crusade (I've watched up to Episode 4. Very promising start thus far!)

I think that's it. Everything else I'm pretty much finished with. Most recent completion: Rurouni Kenshin!

X2 We watched all four dvds the last two nights, I can't wait for the next two. Sweet little Osaka, on the first dvd, tracking the bubbles in her eyes. She's my girl. :) And, well, all the others too.
