Not major effects, but GITS the movie got me more interested in AI

and Kenshin made me finally want to learn how to use a sword, which then led me to learning hand to hand combat.

However, I would say that it affected or helped shape my life vs. changing it. Life is always changing from day to day interactions or exposure to things.

Anime is just another catalyst for change. I immerse myself in it's world from the time I hit the play button. It invokes all kinds of emotions, from sadness to happiness. It's my alternative to reading a good book.

Given that, I can't say that any one specific anime has changed me. If I had to pick one, then the most influential anime would have to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was surprisingly deep and the fact that it was open to interpretation on many different levels was what affected me the most. I like to ponder over the different possibilities as I watched. Each time, I would get a different understanding. It also gave me a little more insight into how I could perceive things. I suppose that itself caused a change in me.

Basically, it affected me mentally and financially. Mentally because I'd spend more time trying to form my own theories of the events instead of finishing up work at my job. Financially because I have become obssessed with collecting more Eva related merchandise and anime in general.

I don't know what got me into anime but a few have given something to my evolution as a being...First Sailor Moon....It taught me the value of friendship...and along the way a few friends which have opened the doors to new and more exciting animes....Second on my list is none other than Neon Genesis Evangelion:

Its true, Evangelion is misunderstood and it is genius...Especially the spiritual and holy suggestions which I still till this day argue with friends and anime enthusiasts about the meaning of the hole thing (luckily I always win)......Evangelion has changed my outlook on how one little person can do some much for the world....today I am a world traveler and international student...... O what the hell....I miss my Anime and all I got is my Evangelion.....YEAH....I WILL LIVE TO SEE TOMORROW!!!!

Ajuna proved to me that not all anime is good
Can't the end of the road be also thought as the beginning for the journey back.

If you have watched Gungrave or X you know how screwed up friendships got. Since i have watched those anime's i have been closer to my friends. Also after Love Hina it changed my outlook on how i should approach girls.

Or perhaps that argument proved to me that flat-headed pseudo-objectivism doesn't really hold any weight in the long run.

Though I'll admit that Arjuna is definitely not a great title for everyone.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
