RahXephon vs Evangelion

The classical music was probably one of the best choices for the movies.
Especially at the credits scene for death and rebirth (Revival of Evangelion - Death(true)^2 ) was one of the best ending scene ever creted. They created a lake with a piece of wood modeled like eva unit 05 looking towards the sun.
And you will notice that the sun is actually setting. All while playing pachebells - cannon in D. It was a very touching ending. So tranquill and eleagent.

Also, Evangelion is slightly more accessible in it's symbolism, as it's based on Christian and Kabbalistic (Jewish) symbols that most people at least know the names of, like the Sephirot, the Magi, etc. Whereas RahXephon is based on Mayan mythology, which not everyone knows a lot about.

The reason the creators of Eva CHOSE Christian symbolism was because it would be unfamiliar to the Japanese audience, which is funny. The American viewers get the symbols and the meaning way more than Japanese viewers. The creators of RahXephon might have recognized that it might have more world recognition and chose a far more obscure symbol set for that reason.

For some strange reason, after finishing both of the series (Rahxephon and Evangelion), I always feel really empty inside, and have a feeling that is not the end yet. I would like to see they make sequal for both shows... But then is impossible... because both ending is the end of the world.

I think using "End of the World" as a ending is very extreme.... But then thats probably all of us like the series so much.

Eva the live action movie will evantually be released in JP.
Anywhere to around 2009.
The fans except death and rebirth as the real ending. Not the ending in end of evangelion.
The only reason why death and rebirth was made was because the fans where pissed off with that ending and this is an alternate ending.
Like you saw in ep 26 there could be a spinoff series using that relailty. That type of reality has been used in the PC game iron maiden 2 (girlfreind of steel 2) . Where miasto is a teacher , dr. rito... is the school nurse, asuka is a childhood friend of shinji, rei has transfered in as an new student. There are no evas or angels. There is no nerv. Shinji has both parents at home.

But anyway,

Saying which series is better is totally what kind of anime you're into.

Evangelion is more for people who like darker, bloodier, blast-people's-heads-off anime. The quality isn't as good as others, but some people don't care about that.

RahXephon is more for people who like to dig for meaning. It's happier, brighter, and more love/relationship oriented. It has excellent animation quality.

Personally, I like both depending on the person I am that day ^^
