Re: The Japan obsession
I have no desire to go to Japan..or travel in general. Though, my friend who lives in Japan told me about a cafe in the town he lives in where you can play with cats while you dine. For this reason only I wanted to visit...stupidest reason ever, I know, but an honest one.

I love travelling in general. I read about those cafes. They are for city people who want a cat but their apartment won't let them.mokulen22 wrote:I have no desire to go to Japan..or travel in general. My friend is a huge cat-lover but says it is far too expensive to buy one..the cafe was his greatest find ever!Hakamichi wrote:I love travelling in general. I read about those cafes. I really don't care that the Japanese people did stuff in the past and are technically racist even today. [they don't mind tourists, but they really really don't want you living there] At least, that's what my friends who lived in Japan for over 18 months would say.
One of them, goes by the handle ElvenShadow on the interwebs, was going to join an arcade gaming tournament, but all his Japanese acquaintances claimed they couldn't team with him because they had other plans that evening, suffice it to say, he went to said tournament and found the same people who refused him...
But even then, teh pr0ns good and well, it's where my martial art comes from. Note: Shorei Goju karate by itself sucks, but once you learn ground grappling and throws, defending yourself becomes much much easier...

Re: The Japan obsession
I have a friend who's living in and teaching english in Japan because he couldn't amount to anything here in the states.
I'd go to Japan just for Akihabara alone, but my obsession with everything japanese died a long time ago.
