This question comes from the second episode (of two so far; and Ep. 2 is the first to actually be released on home video ANYWHERE) of the short-film series Ghiblies.

Three co-workers at an animation studio (the series focuses on a fictitious famous anime house 8) ) go out to lunch. They go to a new curry shop they've heard of -- one with really REALLY HOT curry, and an interesting price setup. Simply order by number -- the number indicates the level of heat. The hotter the curry, the greater the discount you get on your curry plate (assuming you eat the whole plate within the time limit). In fact, the cook will actually PAY YOU 1000 yen if you manage to finish the hottest curry there.

WARNING: this curry is so hot that the LOWEST heat, a '1' on the scale, is hotter than most other restaurant's curry.

The Question: What levels of heat do the three co-workers order? Just the numbers of the three curry plates will do.

Years before the events of the series, Go's father (a captain of a research vessel) went on a scientific expedition to the Antarctic. The expedition went missing -- the press actually blamed Go's father for the disappearance of the research vessel and team.

Flash forward to the present day. On another Antarctic expedition (assigned by the UN), this time to investigate unusual phenomena, Go (now a young man) is shipwrecked in the Pacific Ocean. He awakens to find himself in an infirmary, apparently rescued (FYI, he was dazed when he was picked up), but no one is there to explain anything. While wandering around, he finds the partially-stripped hull of another vessel -- his father's ship.

The Question: What is the name of the research vessel commanded by Go's father?

It might help just a LITTLE to note that this series (at least the first volume) was imported by ADV and released under the title Super Atragon. Especially since it's just been reissued on DVD, and people are much more likely to be able to rent it in that form.

The third question comes from the television series Cardcaptor Sakura.

During the course of recapturing the escaped Clow Cards, Sakura manages to transform them back into Card form. Most of the time, since Sakura is the one to reveal their true form prior to capture, the Cards float to her. But sometimes, when a Card is captured, they float to some OTHER person, because THEY were the ones to reveal that particular magic's true form. Mostly in cases like this, they go to Li Shaoran (examples of this include Time and Cloud). But there is ONE case where the card went to someone OTHER than Sakura or Shaoran.

Just so happens I've been watching a lot of CCS in the past month . That is correct; it WAS "The Maze" that floated straight to Kaho.

As for the other questions:

One co-worker ordered a '3' curry, the second ordered a '5' curry, and the third (the only woman in the group) ordered the '10' (the hottest curry served -- the one where you get a 1000 yen reward if you eat it and survive).
