Neither pirating nor warez is illegal...unethical perhaps, but by no means illegal. Don't think so? Name a SINGLE law that specifically says pirating or warez is illegal...no really, try. ^_^

Bootlegging, that's illegal, that's where you try and steal someones RIGHT to TRY and make money off something. But freely distributing stuff to people who would have never paid for the product in the first place...yeah, no monetary loss, not copyright infringment (where you take someone elses work and try and call it your own creation), there fore, vis a vi, concordently (sorry, bad reference to teh Matrix), it's not illegal. Phade is just a paranoid bastard, nothing more, nothing less. It is Phade's choice to allow or not allow such things, but don't try and make his paranoia and stupidity out to be something more than it is.

Watch the first episode, then watch episodes 14-16, subbed. Just download them off kazaa, you shouldnt have to pay for anime you don't even like . That will give you a real good idea for what the series is like. Episodes 12-13 are also good/dark too. The show gets better and better with almost every episode after ep 13. I've only seen the first 52 episodes (about 6 times), and I've seen that much of the show subbed and dubbed. I've heard from my friends that are in the 120's that the show does not let up and stays really good later. I'm hoping hes right cause where I am at the show is really good.

I'm a big fan of the ocean group (Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Escaflowne) and I notice voice actors very quickly. That being said its understandable that you might like them. In any case where the voice acting bothers you, I recommend switching over to the other language, or at least giving it a try. I have found that there if the dub is mediocre, the sub is often worth watching (Love Hina, Hellsing, Escaflowne are great examples).

That being said I think I'll give it another chance. I'll just get over the voice actors like I did with the Eva dub. That made my ears bleed!

But yeah, back on "topic", I think one of the major reasons all three of the EVA kids are messed up is because they grew up without a mother. I think that the creators are trying to subtly hint at the important role that a mother plays in a child's life.

Hey i never really though about it that way ... but yeah that makes total sense ... all three of them lost their mother in some horrible accident ... like shinji lost his mother in an expriment, asuka lost her mother through suicide, but im not tooo sure about rei ... ill have to look into that .... But u kno wat, shinji is the worst because he didnt have his father also, he was abandoned but him so he is sort of the worst of them all.

I agree that the creator is hinting that motherhood and fatherhood together is a very important role in a childs upbringing, especially a mothers upbringing because they are the usual ones that takes care of the children while the father is bringing the food home ... well thats my 2 cents about that
