who is the most messed up anime character...?

Well, most anime have at least one mentally scarred character or another, but if it where me put into the situation, I would have to say Kenshin from Samuri X. I can deal with killing people, having my friends/family killed, other random stuff, but I think the worst mental pain would be:

I mean, for my personally, I just couldn't handle that, I'd proly end up killing myself. Are there any other anime whith situations simialr?
