Well, yeah, pretty much. Not on message boards though, because I don't know enough people that like anime to talk about it. Anime ranks very low on the 'list of things I like' anyway. I just find the Music videos (well, some of them, anyway) interesting, and I've found some members of this forum quite friendly and enjoyable, so I post more to talk to people than to talk about anime anyway (as I've already said.Wykith wrote: Paaaanda? Or do you comment on everything with equal fervor?
Why do YOU, watch anime?

No. 1) It's kindof sad when we have to use another boards' emoticons to get the point across... Honestly, our emoticon list is in need of reform.
No. 2) Anime isn't just entertainment, come on! I mean, I'm a baby, but when Belldandy and Keiichi couldn't see eachother, and she cried, I cried. It's more sophisticated than a cartoon, yet includes things that live action just can't bring. Anime is the bomb, so don't say otherwise.

You can't just generalise 'cartoons' as being less sophisticated, the country of origin of a piece of animation does not decrease it's calibur, just because the common cartoon outside of Japan is aimed towards children does not mean that you can say that. And it is no better than live action, I hardly see what it can bring that is so superior (Aside from giant robots ).Double O Ninety wrote:No. 1) It's kindof sad when we have to use another boards' emoticons to get the point across... Final Fantasy VII was the most fun, enjoyable, and emotionally moving game I've ever played. I loved the characters, setting, and all the gameplay related things in it. But (big but):
It's still, just, a game.
Anime, is still just animated entertainment. I'm sure to some, less emotionally secure people, go to sleep at night and dream of having a life like they do, and almost cry when they wake up to real life, and try and fill that hole with watching loads of anime (long winded and serious case, I know, but hopefully you get the jist of it). I watch it for entertainment, which is what it is.

You being the Ranma lover that you are should know that no real woman can pack that kindof punch. Also, what would a "live action" Naru be able to do to Keitaro in real life? Anyway, anime has love, swords, majic powers, humor, wit, sadness, drama, violence, stupidity... It's just great. And many american cartoons are sucky. Don't say I can't make that generalization because that's exactly what I'm doing! Besides, Naru can't have a bad public image or ask for more money in her contract. Therefore, she is easier to maintain!JustAnOrdinaryPanda wrote: You can't just generalise 'cartoons' as being less sophisticated, the country of origin of a piece of animation does not decrease it's calibur, just because the common cartoon outside of Japan is aimed towards children does not mean that you can say that. All of those reasons still don't make it anything more than entertainment. And yes, some humour doesn't require people to go flying when hit. And that list you made, erm...I've seen all that in live action.Double O Ninety wrote:You being the Ranma lover that you are should know that no real woman can pack that kindof punch. You just generalised Spiderman.......
Anime an addiction? Geez man, get a life. It's just another medium for TV. Still get a lot of crap anime.
No amount of appreciation for something will ever change that.
