I bought an Orphen DVD. O.o; (the third one though, since my friend has the first two and I thought I could just barrow them if I ever wanted to see 'em.)

My first anime...
The very first REAL anime that I can remember watching was the first Vampire Hunter D, which at that point in time of my childhood, thought that that anime was the best cartoon in the world ( and kinda still do ) But then about 6 years later at my local Blockbuster video, a fluke would change my cartoonish drawling world and definition of good cartoons again and make me love the people from the land of the rising sun once more. Instead of getting the old comedy Search for the Holy Grail from comedic genious Monty Python, I got the first volume of Tenchi Universe, and my love for anime was reawakened from that point ( up until then, cartoons were almost out of my viewing schedual as I had a more hectic life then and pretty much just didn't have the chance to get my hands on a decent anime ) But that was my first anime(s) that I like to consider for starting my love for what true cartooning is all about...
I guess I should say something witty here right...? Too bad...

I think that was The Brave Little Koalla....and lets not forget Adventures in Koalla Land and Grimm's Fairy Tales released by Saban... I miss the good shows Nick Jr. had...kthulhu wrote:Damn, how could I forget those?
OK, those were the bits of anime I watched. Also, this one about koalas. "The Adventures Of The Little Koala". That shit rocked.
First anime: Eva tape 13. Didn't even know what it was, just saw an ad for it from ADV in some mag. Found it at an EB store and figured..."why not?" Before I saw it, a friend hooked me up with the first 12 tapes in order to get the whole series....imagine how fucked up it would have been had I seen tape 13 first...
First DVD: EoE HK version...if you can legitimately call that a DVD...

Both Dual and Nadesico are parodys of Eva not rips that turned out way better than Eva. Eva wishes it had somethnig as good as Gekiganger.Daio Kaji wrote:have u seen Eva yet? lots of ppl have said that nadesico is a rip-off of eva. i've seen this in an amv type thingy using Cruel Angel's Thesis (intro theme of eva) as the music and it used clips from nadesico instead of eva, and so u can make the comparison it even had a little window in the corner showing the eva intro at the same time that the nadesico version played, pretty cool too.MaliceDR wrote:My first was Bubblegum 2040 on VHS. The plot through most of the series wasn't half bad, but the ending sucked more cock than a White House intern.
Then I started collecting Nadesico. Big mistake. I gave up by the fourth tape. It's a soap opera behind a Gundam mask.
i don't know if it's in the .org database or not, but be my guest in looking if u want
btw: 1st anime i ever watched was probably one called 'Super Campiones' (Super Champions..no duh) it was a sport anime with Soccer as focus in Spanish, i saw it when i was probably like 9 yrs old living in Mexico City (visiting relatives actually) i'm never gonna forget how they used the shadows when ppl were depressed, could be a delusion due to youth, but i wanna find it and see it now that i'm old enough to understand wat's happening (not that it had that a deep of a plot, but it could've i guess)
