What got you into anime?!

Specifically, this one got me started real quick: Hayashibara's Lips by Mirai MM

A side effect of this is that I got to appreciate some music tracks I used to hate (eg Pretty Fly For A White Guy by Offspring - I used to think it was pure trash, until I saw a few AMV's using that song, particularly the Kenshin AMV's)

I have a similar story to the topic creator ... I got into FF8 / DBZ, kinda started things for me...but I only liked DBZ out of the entire Toonami collection. The big robot stuff, I hated it.

Then one day I bought a game called Xenogears, for the PS1. My alltime favorite game, as of now. Anyone else ever play it?

It started a huge chain reactions, making me want to find any sort of robot anime dealing with philosophy and whatnot...which of course led me to Evangelion ..

anyways...if any of you out there like RPGs, and love Eva....I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIIIIGHHLLLLLYYYYY recommend Xenogears. Absolutely amazing video game.

Yeah I know what ya mean, teknoman ruled, I watched it on fox kids right before escaflowne every night . I think the only way to get all 49 eps (including twin blood special) is by bootleg cos Im sure they stopped the dub at 45 (wtf was the point in that, there were only 4 more eps ). Its the only bootleg I actually want to buy, shame on me .
