Hmmm.... well first it was Pokemon and then after that would have to be DragonBall Z.
It took me a long time to find anything else but one day we starting going to a new video stores with shelves of it and it began from there.
Martian Sucessor Nadesico was, I suppose, the first real anime I saw and then Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040.

A few years ago I read an newspaper article on Princess Mononoke and decided to see it if the opportunity arose. Soon afterwards I discovered that one of my friends was an anime aficionado with a particular interest in Miyazaki. I borrowed his copy of Mononoke, and I’ve been investigating anime ever since. Mononoke was followed by Wings of Honneamise, Dragon Half and Spirited Away. My first purchase was Serial Experiments Lain.
Although Princess Mononoke triggered my current interest in anime, it was not the first anime I ever saw. A long, long time ago, back before the last ice age, when I was very, very young, I saw an animated movie from Japan. I recently established that it was Magic Boy, a Toei production from 1959 that was released in the USA a few years later.
