Nothing dragonish, no sorcerer hunters, and not bastard. Weird, of all the shows guessed on this so far, I haven't seen any of them.

Urusei Yamata... Urgh, that's not the right name, but it's some dude who has an alien chick for a girlfriend and they're doing something for school that deals with a heavy tank... @_@ Gomen nasai.

You got the name of that anime close, I believe you were talking about Urusei Yatsura. Now, not sure if that's the right answer, but it is a good guess.

Now, for my guess, I'll go with Maburaho
