Mecha Anime Recommendations Please?
Hi all, for the past month or so I've been looking for a really good mecha anime: something similar to the genre of Eureka seveN or The Vision of EscaFlowne.
I haven't really found anything on par with those two (save for Gurren Lagann. That was awesome), so I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions. =) If the show contains romance, that's an added bonus!
Also, please, no Gundam recommendations. I'm thinking about looking into 00, but other than that I'm not interested.
I've seen:
-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
-Eureka seveN
-The Vision of EscaFlowne
-Macross Frontier (watching)
-Heroman (watching)
-Overman King Gainer (watching)
I'm open to watching any mecha anime old or new, so do any of you have some suggestions?

Re: Mecha Anime Recommendations Please?
Here is a list (I may repeat some):
Soukyuu No Fafner- this series is epic drama-wise but the mecha action is not as great as others.
Heroic Age- same as Fafner but a bit better fighting.
Sousei No Aquarion- a fairly classical style based anime similar to Voltron but more modern.
Voltron (in general)- oldie but a goodie.
Code Geass- not particularly centred around mecha but good series and great mecha fights.
Macross Zero- If you like Frontier, then you are going to like Zero which is a small OVA set way before Frontier.
Genocyber- technically not a mech but it still is labelled under that genre. Good series if you are looking for insane amounts of gore.
RahXephon- again not technically a mech but is still categorised as one. This is similar to Evangelion.
Evangelion- really psychological based story and hard to understand but I would recommend it to anyone.
Gasaraki- a great mecha if you are in to the most realistic depiction of mecha. Everything is really precise and great animation.
Gundam (in general)- never seen all of them but I would recommend Gundam Wing from the franchise. Gundam the 08th MS team is a realistic depiction of Gundam.
Asura Cryin'- interesting anime and high quality animation. This is a refreshing type of mecha anime.

I do all the right things for all the wrong reasons.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! (though I would've appreciated no Gundam ones, as explained in the first post. ^^;; )
I've started watching Gunbuster and I'll probably start on GaoGaiGar soon.
(Gunbuster is p. amazing so far. )

Code Geass is the only mecca series that I've really liked.......And it actually became my absolute favorite anime series.

Hulu.com has Gadgard (I think) I suggest you check that one out.
If you do not think so... you will DIE

Re: Mecha Anime Recommendations Please?
Well unless I can find Gadgard somewhere else, I am unable to watch it. =[ Hulu has something against Canadian viewers, so we're not permitted to view their stuff. *shrugs*
