Inu Yasha has been fansubbed up to at least Ep. 97.

AFAIK, they are still producing and releasing new eps in Japan. This IS Rumiko Takahashi we're talking about, after all.

Inu Yasha may NEVER end. Ok, it probably will when R.T. dies. Probably.

anime-Kraze have fansubbed upto 97. Inu-yasha surely has to stop somewhere, unlike something like Ranma, Inu-Yasha has a main thread running through it and so it has to stop when that thread stops (ie when they have the Shikon no Tama and have defeated Naraku).

Not necessarily. They could go on some new quest or something. I hope they don't though, I don't want it to turn crappy.

4 seasons x 26 eps/season = 104 episodes

And I bet they're working on Season 5 right now.

what they have done to Ranma is awful, they really should have stopped at ep.60 or so when the plot was lost.

has anyone seen the travisty that is season 7?

The Inu-Yasha seasons aren't nice round numbers, they've only just started on season 4.

And Ranma didn't exactly have much in the way of continuous plot so could be stretched, INu-Yasha would be too obviously stretched if there's a new quest.
