Escaflowne... What do you think...?

Personally, I believe that escaflowne is great, mainly due the whole series of events that takes place...

I forced myself to watch all of Escaflowne because it was the rage with everyone I knew at the time...I want those 12 hours of my life back. I hated all the characters, hated the show's inability to figure out what it wanted to be, hated the art style, hated the relationships, and hated the fact that I could've rewatched Tylor instead (a show I like a hell of a lot more).

That said, I also thought the movie was crap. Make everyone's annoying traits even more prevalent and set 'em loose for 90 min...

You seem to feel that Escaflowne pretty much sucks... That's your opinion but I still like it...

I agree with some of what you said about the series, but that is not why I am posting. As for the movie, I BEG to differ. The charcters were totaly different. The animation was a million times better than the series, they werent shifting back and forth between bloody action, romance, childish comedy. They stayed pretty much consistent with their action/fantasy theme. As the characters, the difference is night and day. NONE of them are drawn the same way, and if you had payed closer atention to the series you would notice another thing. They ACT totaly different too.

Pretty much everything further down will be spoilers, don't bother with the rest of the post.
Hitomi starts of the movie with a suicide note. Same one from the series who is trying to get a kiss from a guy at school she likes? I think not. Van seeths badass in the movie. The Van in the series is a wimp compared.
Dilandau is the biggest difference. Sicne he wasnt a woman changed into a man.
There are a million and one more differences I could list. To sum up my statement, the series may be bad but the movie is totaly different, and in a GOOD way.

Thank you for pointing that out, because I felt that the movie was a good change from the series...

i think that it's pretty interesting what you guys think of the movie. i was the total opposite. i thought the series was much better. the movie seemed rushed, and the characters seemed undeveloped. they come and go too quickly. the only thing i really liked was the music lol

My absolute favorite show ever :). This is the first time I've ever seen someone not liking it, but oh well :).
