Summer 2015 Anime Lineup

Post by Jasta85 » Sun Jun 21, 2015 8:53 am

The current season is wrapping up with some shows already finishing, and we have some heavy hitters coming up in the next couple weeks.

My "will definitely watch no matter what" list:

-Dragon Ball Super: Continuation of the actual story, written by the original author, yes please. I have no idea how they're going to make fights even slightly plausible at this point when most of the main fighters can blow up planets with a sneeze, but just seeing some more DBZ fights with modern animation will be worth it.
-Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou: This manga series made me a monster girl fan, it's a small but growing genre. I am worried they might screw it up as the chapters tend to be very short and self contained and I could seem them stuffing a lot of random filler into this which could definitely hurt it, but still excited.
-Kangoku Gakuen: I've heard great things about the manga and managed to hold off on reading it when I heard an anime was coming how, now I finally get to see what it's all about.
-To Love-Ru: Trouble - Darkness 2nd: Need to get my weekly quota of bare boobage, this will take care of that
-Overlord: Series about a gamer becoming an overlord in an online game universe, and animated by madhouse? yes please

My "Interested in and will check out"
-Okusama ga Seito Kaichou!: Read the manga and it's pretty decent, very stereotypical but still very enjoyable as a highschool fanservice series
-Working!!!: Not the most amazing series in the world but I watched the first 2 seasons and enjoyed them so no reason not to continue
-Gangsta: Never heard of this before, but animation looks great and the summary looks really cool, reminds me a bit of samurai champloo
-Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: Heard good things about the manga and Bones is doing the animation so I expect good things from this
-God Eater: Animated by Ufotable, that alone makes it worth watching. Concept seems interesting but it is based on a game, not a manga/LN so my expectations are somewhat grounded

There's actually a bunch more series that I'll be checking out as well, but this is getting too long already. Looking like a strong anime season

I agree with Dragon Ball Super (also actually looking forward to the movie coming out soon...it looks like it's going to be actually fairly well done).

I've read quite a bit of the manga for Gangsta, and I really like it. So I'm definitely going to be checking out the anime.

GATE is looking interesting so far.

I've been keeping an eye on all the crunchyroll titles and seeing which holds my interest past a few episodes.
so far thats: Gate, Food Wars, Class room Crisis, Ushio and Tora, and Rokka Braves of the six flowers
when i have nothing else to do, i'm still sorta following these for now, but not as religously as the others:
Charlotte, Gatchaman Insight Symphogear GX (its so silly its actually enjoyable)

If just finished watching Gangsta and it's pretty good.
It's more of a 'fun' anime.

Really looking forward to the new DBZ though! :)
