I figured we could just have one thread for reactions to Trigun's appearence on AS. (and seperate from the speculation threads)

Really, the only edits that I could spot were that they removed the intro and heavily shortened the outro. Sucks, but the show itself looked untouched, so I'll live. Too bad CN viewers won't get to hear the lovely HT, though, although they did get a sample of Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku...

I've never seen the dub, but OMG you're right about Milie. And Vash...UGH! He sounds SO GAY.

AHHHH!

I guess I am glad there were no cuts, but still in shock from the dubbing....

Lol, i didn't see any cuts either, but i whole-heartedly agree on the Milly and Vash dubbing...It's just...WRONG.

This is the first time I noticed on the dub, but they tend to speak stiltingly at times.

DWChang, if you think Millie's bad now, just wait until they get to the specific scene I mentioned previously...

UGH!!

Jonny Bosch is ok, he gets the serious moments and the comedic moments and the mock-serious moments well enough, but his voice just sounds a bit too young to be convincing. He sounds more like he's, I dunno, 18, maybe 20, but Vash is about 28 or so, and it's a wierd fit to me.

Trigun dub = less evil than most others. Some people hate Vash's voice.. I am neutral on it. I like the voice they gave him, but he can't do Vash perfectly.. it's like he's ALMOST vash... but not quiet.

And Milly? Well... Let's just say that I hope that voice actress found a different line of work.

And also.. It's true, we don't get to see H.T., which is sad... BUT!!! - We do get to see a Toonami style "badass techno" opening! I love those things... like, I hate the Sailor Moon dub, but Toonami's techno OP for it was great. *plays sailormoontoonami.wav*

I swear... if there's any channel that knows how to frickin' advertise anime, it's Cartoon Network. Their Toonami style techno stuff is just awesome. Like the 3 minute long Tenchi Muyo commercial they aired for a week at 5pm on the dot the week before Tenchi came on the air... THAT was fucking badass.

And of course, the CN Trigun opening is no exception.. pretty damned cool!

(Though not as cool as the Inuyasha opening! hehe! "Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit boy! SIT!" - "Oh yeah... big sit."

I love that.)

I actually like the Trigun dub.

They cut out HT?!

I thought Adult Swim always shown the full intro and cut outros.

Either way, I think its a nice fit for AS. I mean, it is a nice break from the boring american attempts to get cartoons in AS. Well except for Futurama, (I love that show).

CN has really been doing a good job of getting shows, both for Toonami and Adult Swim.

I saw Trigun last night, and thought they did a great job. And as for it being a dub, so what? I only had a problem with on character (yeah, you know who) and while the Vash voice did seem "not quite right", they got all of the serious and silly momunts right, and the crazy yelling/screams and stuff that Vash does.

vash's voice realy shocked me, when it started out and i heard vash's voice for the first time i thought to myself omg what the fuck did they do to vash?!?!?! i thought for sure he'd never nail the "sillyness" of vash, but i was wrong, i was realy amazed at how well he realy did, and yea, milly sucks ass but lets hope i can over look it and vash will just take some time to grow on me because the voice actor seems to be talented enough to be at least almost there, lets just wait for some of the more comical eps to come along and find out what happens ^_^
