To Be Or Not To Be? The Battle For Dragon Ball/Z/GT...

Dragon Ball/Z/GT is one of my favorite anime series, and the movies are just as great, I know in about 5 mins. or less people will flood this topic with serious and the most horrible and dumb post's EVER...!!! I didn't want to post this until I was sure I got the fact's about Dragon Ball/Z/GT but I will do that as I get the replies...

Now on to what this is all about...

Why is Dragon Ball/Z/GT one of the most hated anime's there is when it is most certainly one of the best there ever was... and ever will be??? I want to know why people hate DB/Z/GT so much and not just "becuase I do..!!" although I know some is going to do the exact oposite and post that becuase for some "Unkown Reason" people tend to lack common sense and feel their "Outrageous, Stupid and Dumb" replies even matter when I'm am most serious about this topic I figure that the reason's why DBZ is one of the most liked is becuase it was one of the first that started in the 1980's(I might be mistaken though, Please prove me worng , If.. I.. Even.. Am.. and please do prove it and not just same I wrong)

And becuase of the idea of taking one's rage and able to become more stonger with that rage for the BETTER GOOD, and for example Goku! Who saves the world when he does, at least most of the times that I've seen...

And the idea to consume energy which is like a belief of the japanese, so I've heard...(Once again if i'm wrong please do PROVE IT and not just say I am, of course... once... again... some one who the lack's common sense or just feels what the say matters even if it doesn't make sense will do the exact opposite and post away... there opinion, but then again I have no control over that... DAMN!)

With what I have stated here please post away both POSITIVE!!! And of Course the NEGATIVE(Please do try and use common sense and mature thoughts and try at least to have true meaning to what you have to say...)

watching Goku twitch for a whole episdoe isn't very entertaining. Watching Goku say his current opponent is stronger and probably the strongest than his last is very stupid.

Many people do not hate DBZ or it's other incarnations. Most people have a far greater hate of DBZ being commericalized to death, and of rabid fanboys who think DBZ is the come-all, end-all anime of existence.
I could go on, but I'm not, as I'm sure many other people will cover anything I might mention.

As a note, starting topics like this that say, 'it [DBZ] is most certainly one of the best there ever was... and ever will be...' makes you sound like nothing but a rabid fanboy.

Thank for your honest and meaningfull relpy, and I see your point about it being commericalized to death, yet I am not a rabid fanboy and I wish I had thought out a bit more on what i was going to post, although I must admit I am not a "die hard fan" but just a "fan" of DB/Z/GT, I just like to know more about people's view of DBZ and why some people hate it to death... So with that being said i would like to say that DBZ is not the greatest there is or ever will be, but is still one of my favorite's and most certainly I don't think it is the come-all, end-all anime of existence... and I hope there will be more replies such as yours, of course some people have proved that wrong already, to bad there aren't more people like you and more replies such as what you had to say..

I love DBZ to death, but it's true, from the frieza saga and beyond it's absolutely rediculious having to watch the characters power up.. *looks around for fast forward* - I mean christ, the final 5 minuites of Namek's life lasted 4 tapes. Thats 3 eps per tape. Somethings wrong. When you get past that, then it's a damn sweet series.

It's by far not the best out there, by any strech of the imagination, but it's a hearty good fun watch, ..for the 5 minuites of content...

To say DBZ has no plot is innacurate. To say DBZ carried the same recycled plot for the last 5 sagas would be correct.

Dragon Ball is just fucking stupid. I don't like the childlike humor in it. It's geared towards 8 year olds and has no real value to anyone older. It's childrens anime, much like digimon (if you can call digimon an anime). At least pokemon can be somewhat entertaining. Dragon Ball is a waste of time. I've got the original 6 tapes funi released, which is the history, for the most part, anything after this is just kind of, blah.

Drag-On Ball Z is what I have to say. The first few eps are good and then it just...blah. Yeah, it has its moments after that (Goku driving a car...Gohan pissing on Krillin's head in that one movie...etc) but for the most part, it make's Pokemon's recycled plot look entertaining.

So I pretty much agree with everyone else in saying that I used to enjoy it, but then it lost my intrest when it just kept going to the point where it was as annoying as those damn AFLAC commercials. I just don't have that long of an attention span. And that's why I have to put in on the low end of anime.

Oh yeah. I also got disturbed away from it. Late night is Schu no ko's "Yaoi time". I forgot to turn off the TV. Let's just say reading Yaoi fanfic and listening to DBZ dub at the same time is a bad idea...a really bad idea...I don't care how big a yaoi fan you are.

*looks at watch* Hmmm...I think I'll go read some King of Fighters fics tonight.

What exactly do you mean by this?..

There isn't much Anime or Manga that I don't like, there are a few that I like more than others though.
The only thing I have against the db/z/gt is the edited stuff we get in Australia, alot of the original humour is gone... but all in all, I like the DB series...
