What do u think is the most popular japanise anime off all?

I have been thinking latly what u think is the most popular japanise anime. that every one know's about it that has been see in all most all of the countries in the world and that no one thinks that is japanise (well not shure about the last thing tho)

Either DBZ or Pokemon. That doesn't necessarily mean they're GOOD, just seen by more people than any other anime. I mean, when you've got it going on Cartoon Network, and hugely (in my opinion unjustly) publicized, there's no way anything else (as in more adult anime) can stand up to it. There's just too darn many kids watching TV that won't show most anime for it to be fair.

they may be old school, but they are the most popular considering they lasted so long.

I find this one interesting. Why would you say it's the most popular? I haven't heard of it appearing on TV outside of Japan or being as publicised as the others mentioned. I'm not trying to say you're necessarily wrong, just wondering what your reasoning was in picking that one.

I guess it's like a cult classic, just because movies like austin powers, rocky horrer picture show, and UHF didn't do well in the theaters and are by all acounts bad movies doesn't mean that people don't watch them. In fact they are some of the most famous movies around.

But we're talking about most popular here. Not "lots of people like it" or "it has a strong cult following", but "which one has pretty much everyone seen, or pretty much everyone would recognize".
