Please god dont tell me you are watching the CN version. *Smacks head* CN killed that anime, I got a glimpse of today's ep, you would barely know that whats his names parents were hanged. Its such a disgrace to the anime. Kenshin is a good anime but I like the OAV better since its more realistic. NO flying tornado swings or what not.

I'm rather fond of Ruroni Kenshin myself. I have to agree that CN is destroying anime. Con attendance is down, once full VHS and DVD shelves are no longer stocked and I can't find any internet sites about anime at all

Makes me long for the eighties when anime was everywhere.

Samurai X is a much better verison then the one CN. I think toonami should stop putting anime if they are going to ruined them by changeing the story line.

I like rurouni kenshin also.
But I still don't get why everyone trashes CN for censoring their animes. You people should just be glad that they play it at all. They are doing the anime business a great service by playing censored anime on TV.
Heres what Robotech producer Carl Macek has to say about this:

Not to be rude, but it looks like you've only seen the CN version and apparently love it. Woudn't your next statement sort of not make sense since you stated you like it (the CN version).

I agree with what others have said (MAS and Tom). They are brutalizing a great anime by editing out like the entire story and character's backstories (i.e. their motivations). I think watching the CN version will give people the wrong (a bad) impression of the show since it's easily cutting out 20 - 30% of the actual story (not showing Aoshi's group dying, not showing Saitoh's fight and the recent kid's parents being hung all not being shown come to mind).

Now someone mentioned why we would be angry since they're at least showing it right? I don't agree. Like I said above, they are not even staying true to the original. I can take a bad dub so long as the content and most of the meaning/story is still there. With Kenshin, that is not the case, they are changing the show we so love and people who haven't seen it think this is what it is. That is what I am angry at: Misrepresentation of a show I love.

And yes, for the record, I do like that anime is on TV now since it makes more fans, but I will always hate it when they change the show around and the meaning/story is lost.
