Apparently there is a new spinoff series coming out based on Chobits.

Chibits! Same opening song as Chobits but 1/8th the size.

Chibi + Chobits = Chibits. Basically dwarf Persocons.

Sumomo and a new Persocon called Kotoko appear to be the main players with appearances by Chii.

Episodes appear to be about 6 min long.

And here I thought it was a typo when it first showed up on the fansub listings.

Ah well, didn't really know that much about Chobits anyway. 8)

I don't think Kotoko is a new character. She was in the original series, in the later episodes.

Kotoko is not a new character, but I haven't seen all of the anime, only the Manga, and she is another laptop like Sumomo.

The idea of Chibits is kind of wierd and I am not sure I'd like it

LAPTOP, that's hilarious.

I always found it funny that Shinbou (sp?) referred to Sumomo as a portable persocom. I thought they were all portable.

I guess it'd be in the same vein as "The Adventures Of The Mini-Goddesses", the Oh My Goddess spin off.

She's the one that is programed to tell the truth and is somewhat sarcastic as she assumes the role as the odd one out in Heidikie's derranged household.

She's amusing because she makes it obvouis that everyone else is entirely insane.

wow. A new spinoff series. I haven't even finished watching the first. My question is, do you think the chibi chobits will be released in the US? I mean, they haven't even gotten past the first 3 DVDs yet.
