EVA Ending (MAJOR SPOILER WARNING)
Hey you know lately I've been thinking about the EVA ending and relized that many people got many different things out of it than I did. So I would like to know what other people who saw think of it.
Last warning if you are planning on watching the series or haven't finished it please for your own good stay away.

I tried not to obsess over the ending of Eva, though I did ponder why Asuka was ther, I didn't pay much to it, I like the series more than the movie, though I don't watch the last two episodes.
My idea is that Shinji refused instrumentality and kind of stopped the Third Impact. As for Asuka being there, I think it was because she was in Eva-02, but then people argue whether she died in there or not, and I am not going to make a big deal about it. Personally I don't think that you should think too much into the ending because it, in my opinion, can ruin the story for you, I know it does for a few.

I simply accept EoE as the physical reality.
But NGE's real ending I see more as the mental, emotional view.
To translate: the goings on in Shinji's head. Why it happens and who it affects. The whole new world idea it mentions is basically the reality that EoE omits. Being that the Auska seen at then end of EoE is a comprisal of Auska, Rei, Misato and Karou (yes I include Karou on that list because face it or not Karou was a very influential love interest to Shinji). So every reality seen in the original ending could have been possible one way or another through the "New and Improved" Auska. It gets confusing explaining form there. But no one response to this show is right or wrong. It's all mater of opinions based on very loose facts. Some people don't even accept the original ending, some omit all of EoE as non-sense. I say it all has a place.

It is a pity some people didn't like EoE. I guess those were the people who like happy, solid endings you don't have to think about to understand. I hate those kind of endings because they are hollow. A fools ending baisically.

actually, i think most of the summing up was done is the episodes before those last two, but the rest is right, it's pretty much shinji smiling (at the very end, before that, it's pretty depressing from shinji's point of view
i would like to know what questions are plaging people that weren't answered in the EoE
i liked the movie ending, it went great in conjuction with the series ending
to be specific, people say EoE and the tv series ending of eva are the same except EoE was external and tv ending was internal, that's not exactly right, it only applies to the part of EoE where instrumentality begins, the parts before and the parts after were not in the tv ending, only in EoE (asuka fight rocked)
