anime movies that should of been a series

Post by Bebop0083 » Wed Jul 09, 2003 1:43 am

there are some anime movies that i think should of been a series. i mean if the manga is like long as crap it should of been a series. not a 2 hour movie. here are some anime movies that come to mind. Akira and Vampire Hunter D. VHD has a lot of plotholes ive noticed. especially in the second one. they never tell who his father really is. they just said he was a vampire king blah blah blah. and how the hell did he get a talking hand!. lefthand mentioned he was a parasite. i think the manga akira is really great compared to the short 2 hour movie. they sure cut a lot of stuff out. i wasnt impressed with the movie after i read the manga. im sure there are more anime movies that could of been a series. i know Ninja Scroll was a movie that lead into a series. i know there is probably more movies though that could of been a series. so this is the place to list them.

Blood should have been a first episode instead of a movie.

Manga Ent. announced they were funding a sequel to Blood in 2001, and initial production began late last year.

If I'm not mistaken, in the first Vampire Hunter D they said Dracula was D's father.

What I thought was weird was in the first VHD, D tells that Princess chick she's half human, so she has the choice to live as a human if she wants to, but in Bloodlust he tells the blonde chick he's a dunpeal, he doesn't get to have a life. So I'm like wtf, make up your mind, do you choose to hunt or are you forced to hunt.

As far as Blood goes, I was hugely dissapointed. I mean it looked great and it seems to have real potential as a series, but as a stand alone film it's lacking. I mean, there wasn't a strong story, it was like, Hi, I'm this pale chick..ooooo monsters, watch me chop them up with my sword. I need a new sword. I guess I'll go to school, dumm dee dumm dee dumm, Oh look! more monsters, chop, chop, chop, The End. Okay, I know there was more to it than that, but not by much.

Thats what i thought but i wasnt sure becasue that one daughter vampire was talking to her "ancester" dracula so i was like wtf?? why would she be talking to D's dad if he's the enemy. well she wasnt talking to him literaly she was talking to him as some one would be talking to some one at a graveyard. thats the best i can come up with.

X/1999, but now there's X TV of course... I still loved the old X though...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I thought the movie was the ending to the series...(though i haven't seen the whole series..)

And apparently Tokyo Babylon is a Prequel for X...
