On TV, I didn't know it was anime, but Teknoman [Tekkaman] was my first viewing, alongside Record of Lodoss War OAV. [both were on TV]

My first "VHS" anime was borrowed from a friend called "Oh My Goddess".

[ever since then, I realized I loved romance comedy anime and that all others were just inferior to me :)]
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

I saw some random crap as child, like Ronin Warriors, some random fantasy show whose name I can't remember, and the second segment of Robotech, which I liked, but what really got me into anime was seeing Bebop on Adult Swim just a year or so ago.

Ich bin ein n00b!

Bebop's really good...

The first one that I remeber was Macross 2; lovers again. I remeber this because a friend has a lot of Japanamation on VHS during the early 90's. So I really did not get to watch much anime unital last year.

Voltron was on TV when I was a kid, which got me into anime indefinitely. Of course it was the American rapage there-of, so taste was something slowly acquired over time.

The first peek of Japanese animation I remember seeing anywhere was Sailor Moon.

The first anime I watched on television was Pokemon when it first came out.

The first uncut, uncensored anime I ever saw was Mononoke Hime. :)
