Whats The Best Anime Ever And Why Is It Best?

I was just curious what everyone else thought was the best anime. Personally i cant choose a specific one but i just want your opinions!!

Thats because there isn't. the best anime evAr jsut dosn't exist it's a totaly subjective thing.

But people can have a personal favorite, but as they watch more anime, that personal favorite that they belive to be the best becomes some perosnal favorites. So in the long run i think almost no one can say that there is one specific anime that they feel is the best. I know i can't.

And to keep wiht the question, my favorites are

Evangelion, FLCL, Azumanga Daioh, Love Hina, hellsing, Trigun, RahXephon, and Cowboy Bebop (Actualy it's the Spike Spiegel Show UncleMilo!).

yes i know ... lots of staple animes ... well what can i say ... i compile my "too watch list" from what other peopel say is really good. Which is one of the reasons why i'm trying to get started on more "obscure" animes.

Best anime ever is dubbed slayers.

1. It got me into anime

2. Ive never found a replacement for it.

3. Its everyting the retarded dungeons and dragons cartoon should have been.

4. It kicks ass

5. Lina is a red head

6.Amelia is a little hottie.

7. Xellos is uber cool

8. It can make you laugh and also make you sad.

Best anime ever!!!! Only problem with it is no Lum. A lum slayers crossover would rock .

my opinon... cowboy bebop by far is my favort becouse:
-good story
-good music
-good character development
-good animation
-actualy the only bad thing is that is so sort but if it were longer it would prolly suck

yes i know ... thats why i gave you a list of my favorites. Hmmm dubbed slayers? Wasn't teh dub terrible for that? or was that Berserk ... I haven't seen either one yet but i know one of them had a terrible dub that made the Vampire hunter: D dub look like a master peice. (incase you don't know VH:D's dub is spawned by satan)

It would be kinda hard to say exactly what the top 100 would be in Japan. Is it based on sales? or polls?

Why does everyone say the dub to Vampire Hunter D is horrible? It was one of my first, and I own the vhs copy. I'm assuming there has been only one dub unlike, for example, Akira. The only scene that makes me laugh is when they first discovery the girl has been bit and they are discussing it with the mayor. Those 5 minutes don't ruin the rest of the movie for me.

What I find really interesting is the fact that except for Evangelion and Detective Conan, the top ten has basically remained unchanged for fifteen years. You can draw whatever conclusions you like; maybe the participants in the poll were impressionable anime-watching kids back in 1985, or they just haven't been making the shows like they used to, or maybe these shows were just really really good. I dunno.
