Pioneer = bye bye

Post by Propyro » Mon Aug 25, 2003 7:00 am

I've heard that pioneer's anime entertainment division is in the process of being sold. A japanese company, which will be more interested in making money then pioneer was, will be buying it. Why is this good? Pioneer dosn't care about making money or having lots of sales, so their prices are high. this company will more then likely lower the prices and bring back discontinued box sets ... i hope. My current source of information is the guy at the comic shop. When i get back from work i'll try to get some more reliable sources. Or if somone else feels like looking it up feel free to do so.

This can be a very bad thing. Pioneer usually produces pretty good quality anime. Both in their dubs, subs, and tendency to be uncut. They saved Cardcaptor Sakura from a life of disgusting, dubbed and cut hell. Will this japanese company do the same if all they're interested in is money?
Reality is for people who lack imagination.

Still....Hopefully they'll lower their prices...Pioneer releases a lot of cool anime's but when you're paying an extra 15-20 bucks for a DVD compared to other companies...well it just sucks....

I agree, indefinetely.

Plus they did a VERY good job with the dubbing with the Clamp series of X and Chobits (I wished they gotten Angelic Layer too, but ADV got rights to that series :cry: ).

I realized something, if Pioneer gets sold, Who's going to distribute the 2nd Cardcaptor Sakura movie?

Think about it people,in addition to the good dubs there were also bad,think tenchi(all of it)this is not to say that tenchi was bad, i actually loved most of it, tenchi muyo ova,tenchi in tokyo,while most of tenchi universe just kind of sucked until the last few episodes.
