do your parents try to watch anime with u?

Every time i try to watch anime my parents try to watch it with me. no matter what the show is. My mom keeps asking which sex is which, what's going on and how can you watch this. the best reply i came up with is why do you watch soap operas? in which she says cause i can. well there ya go ma. you answered your own question. My dad on the other hand will sit watch and say that is fuckin' funny when he saw Trigun. He doesn't understand it all the time but he won't ride me on why i watch it.
Anyone else have this going on when they watch anime?

My mother wouldn't touch anime with a ten-inch pole.

And frankly, I think it's better that way.

Let's just say that's not a good idea. I abandoned the idea a while ago when dad watched an episode of Sailormoon on TV and then kept ridiculing me for the whole week after...

My parents don't really care, but it's embarresing of how they talk of it, especially my mom, she calls it 'the japanese animation.' which would be politically correct, but I don't under stand why she can't just say anime... or better yet animé than animee ¬¬....

My mom thinks anime is super violent and I shouldnt watch it.

But it was my dad who watched Neon Genesis Evangelion 5 times and has about 4 DBZ vhses under his bed.

my mom doesn't really watch it or even try to understand it which is probably good, she wouldn't get it anyways. My dad, on the other hand watches what i bring home on vhs and dvd, but i get the impression that he just wants to know what i'm watching. Which is fine by me. I think parents should do that.

heh, nothing but bad experiences there. I convinced my mom to let me rent Perfect Blue once, and my mom happens to walk in just as the rape scene started.....ya......sux......but my little sister and brother really got into it to so ill leave it to them to try to sway people over.
