Not-so-well-known anime
Most of the posts I've been reading lately (that list anime titles) have given very well known titles (i.e. Ranma, Inu-Yasha, Rayearth, Gundam, etc.) but I haven't seen many not so well known titles. I remeber watching Cutey Honey in 7th grade. You never hear of that one (I wonder why...). Flame of Recca used to be not so well known... so did DiGi Charat, but they've both been licsenced now. Suki Dakara Suki...but maybe thats just manga. So, I haven't heard of an anime lately that really hasn't already been pretty wide-spread. Anyone know of some good titles that nobody would have heard of?
*...isn't it fun to caually drop a title that no one has ever heard of and say "oh yeah, well thats been out for a while" and watch their face get all worried and you just know their thinking "I've been neglecting my otaku duties! I can't believe it! I haven't even heard of it! I'm so not kakkoi at this moment..." er, no? Maybe its just me... *

It depends who you ask...
For example, Mazinger Z and Getter Robo both have substantial fan followings elsewhere...but here, most of the people have only heard the names used in passing
(Which is a damned shame...both are good stuff...insane, but good nevertheless)
However, in regards to the question:
Aura Battler Dunbine
Overman King Gainer
and
the original Japanese SD Gundam OVAs (not the Superior Defender thing getting released in the US now...this one (the Japanese) is actually funny)

Is that Metal Angel Marie??? Cause if so it's really good. How about "My Dear Marie"? It's a three episode OVA.
How about:
Jewel Bem Hunter Lime
Sakura Diaries
Maze Mega Burst Space
People don't talk about those too often...but I have them and consider them fairly good watching, for different reasons though...lol...they are all quite uh...SPECIAL....

Actually, not all that old by comparison (as Gundam series go, it's pretty recent)SQ wrote:Gundam X.
Very old. Seldom talked about...
Still, the latter point is true, it isn't talked of much (kind of a mixed blessing...while it's a good series, part of me gets a bad vibe about what's gonna happen with, say, Witz, Roybea, and the Frost Bros when the show hits the US...maybe I'm just being paranoid though)

It was an it wasn't.Squall08 wrote:what was that old show called with Rick Hunter (or something like that)
Robotech or something?
was that even anime?
It was in the regard that the content was three different series (Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeda)
It wasn't in the regards that it was three completely unrelated series meshed together as one story.
