That question cant really be fairly answered seeing as how the bebop anime was released before they started doing the manga. So it there for has the original story, while Trigun was released before the manga was even finsished and everything was changed drasticly. Based on the animes alone i guess i would have to say Bebop however :(

Personally I think it's too hard to choose between the shows since they're so different...

The better characters I'd have to say Cowboy Bebop since they're so dinamic... In Trigun, the characters, with the exception of Vash, are pretty one sided. They do what they're doing because they're doing it.

In terms of story I think they both have their perks, but I like Trigun's story better.

Music is hands down Bebop and art style is Bebop.

And when it comes to the final episode... Well I don't like how either show ends o.O

But that's just me...

Look they are both good. Here is how i see it. If you like more serious adult stuff with mo violance then choos Bebop, not to mention a host of latex loving gals! If you like serious action with a little humor thrown in the mix or just want to see a twisting story line then choose trigun. If i HAD to choose one,and I mean HAD to choose one, I'd choose Bebop.

I do like Trigun more. After all the hype, I thought Cowboy Bebop was kind of a let down. Certainly a good show, but I don't think it really lived up to it's supposed greatness.

As far as cinematography and visual/sound design, Cowboy Bebop takes the cake. It was rather brilliant, especially the music.

What I like about Trigun is that it covers almost the entire emotional spectrum. I happen to like the story more, as well. It's characters are a bit less dynamic, though (excluding Vash, and perhaps Wolfwood).

Woah, totaly disagree.

Trigun and bebop spoilers by the way.

Bebops theme, story, and 'covering of emotional spectrum' i fealt was a lot greater then Trigun. One man lives a happy go lucky life looking to continue his life with the woman he loves, he watches that woman die and then dies himself.

Also Vash wasnt Dynamic at all in my eyes, he kept his moral thru the whole story only slipping once but not actually 'changing' which is the deffinition of Dynamic character.

While Wolfwood made the biggest change of all, finding the way to save everyone instead of just killing, and this was also at the cost of his own life.

Other then Wolfwood all the other characters in Trigun unfortunetly were Static, just dull and as someone said before just there to do what they do.

Remeber in order to identify a theme you must always...

Identify the protaganist ( vash and spike )
Observere their conflict ( Seaking his brother and a way to save everyone, looking for the woman he loves and living until he does)
Identify what he learns about human life ( Even though he killed Legato he realises that life is life and mistakes can be made, he still continues to look for a way to save everyone. Once the person he searched and longed for died, he fealt he had nothing more to live for.
Apply to a 'universal' theme.

Trigun : Even though mistakes can be made in life, it is always possible to go on.

Cowboy Bebop : After losing those dearest to you, your life itself seems to end.

And ironicly they seem to contradict each other.

Egnlish class is rubbing off on me :(

8)

While I think both shows are very good and I like both very much

I have to go with Bebop. I think Bebop set a new standard for the action genre and music in anime.

No other anime was quite like it and it is a standard by which others will be judged.

While Trigun is quite good I dont think it set any precedents.

They're both quite good, but yeah... I think Bebop generally had a higher budget, so of course it's better in a lot of ways. But that doesn't mean that Trigun is bad either. Though I do agree that Vash tends to be more of a static character...
