Okay, now, this is kinda a counter to the whole bitch slap bimbos thingy. Cuz there ARE some truly awesome anime chicks out there. Let's take some of these for example . . .

Okay, now here's one chick who KNOWS whats she wants and she goes after it and GETS it . . . ANY means necessary. And I am serious about that ANY means necessary thing. She doesn't hesitate to use her most powerful spell on your ass *unlike Sailor Moon* and she can use a sword, too. She's not a one-sided wimpy mage. Gotta love Lina. *also, her voice actress is AWESOME! Gotta love Megumi!*

I. LOVE. Asuka. Yes, she is a BITCH, but that's why she's great. Love her love her LOVE her. She can pilot an EVA like nobody's business. *for reference, please see End of Evangelion* She's SMART, she knows her job, ENJOYS doing what she does, and has a friggin' SPINE. *can you sense the Shinji-Hate?* And the way she picks herself up out of her psychotic depression is simply beautiful.

Yukina (YYH). She's the epitome of the fragile sweetheart who doesn't want to see anyone be hurt - even someone who's hurt her. But when it comes down to it, she's as stubborn as her brother, very cool. I just wish we got to see more of her demon nature - one glimpse was enough to show there's a lot more to her than the sweet side.

Mukuro (YYH). I hate her with a passion for the hinted pairing with Hiei, but she's one kick-ass fighter, cool, funny (at least around Hiei), and just has a great 'I know, but I'll just sit here and smirk at you instead of admitting it' attitude. ^_^ If I could ignore the possible romance, she'd probably be my favorite anime female.

Hikaru (Magic Knight Rayearth). Yeah, she cries, but she's one of the few girls who runs forward as she does it. She may be sensitive, but that's never stopped her from doing what needs to be done. She's loyal, adorable, and strong to boot. Plus she's pretty and has a very stubborn fighting spirit. The fact that she loves both Lantis *and* Eagle just makes me like her even more. 8)

Alita (or Gally if you prefer her original Japanese name), from Battle Angel Alita (or Gunnm, again if you prefer the original name) She's strong-willed, yet sensitive, with a sense of determination and loyalty the likes of which few can match. Alita isn't afraid to say what's on her mind, and she doesn't seem to be intimidated by anything. Also, she's one of the few characters I can think of who doesn't just stand there while her enemy gives some long-winded speech about how great they are; she goes for the throat right away.

Truly one of my favorite characters of all time.

I dont look up to her, I admire her.

She's strong willed and stubborn, but still has a soft side which shows she's still human and a person like everyone else. When focused she can get the job down and doesn't let up (stubborn) in combat. Knows who she wants but doesn't whore herself around for them.

And in response to Asuka, I don't see her as a bitch. She's not that tough. She's just a child hiding from the truth that some people don't give a damn how much you wanna show of, you aren't special. That's why shinji was actually still used cause Asuka couldn't always finish the job. That's why I liked it when Rei would ignore her, cause that's exactly what I'd do.

I was just about to bring up Utena. Now THERE'S a role-model. She's noble, independent, and even if she's cruelly innocent, she's not so innocent that she's easily manipulated *like Anshi*. She strives for her goal and picks herself up when she falls. And in the end, she truly becomes a Prince.

And might I add there is only ONE person who could have beaten Utena . . . TWICE??

Now JURI is kickass. I don't look up to her as much as Utena but . . . . DAMN she kicks ass. If it weren't for those miracles, she would be the current dueling champion.

Good choice on Alita. Here's all I can come up with right now.

Kei & Yuri (Dirty Pair/DP Flash)The first two choices in a lot of people's mind for tough women. Always doing what they can to get the job done, rarely even show any fear and, uh, unintentionally causing the most property damage, cause it's still not their fault.

Umi(Magic Knight Rayearth)Started out as a rich obnoxious brat, self centered, not caring about the duties she had to perform. As time went on, she went through tough battles, saw sorrow and suffering around her and made a lot of friends. She greatly matured as she risked her life to help others and become a lot more generous.

Otohime Mutsumi from Love Hina - Doesnt have a mean bone in her body, is quite adorable, is easy to talk to, has no hangups about being seen naked, and is actually quite intelligent.

Urd from Oh My Goddess - Not afraid to bend the rules to do what she feels is right to help friends or family, actually has a compassionate and caring side.

Milly Tomlin from Trigun - Has a heart of gold, is good with kids, has very good moral character and isnt afraid to stand up against the odds for what she believes in.

Yoriko from Da Capo - She starts out as this helpless young catgirl sitting in the park being teased by kids when Juuinchi rescues her. She begs to be the family maid even though she hasnt a clue what to do. But she doesnt give in. She keeps trying hard to please and to learn. By the end of the episode she has stayed up all night learning to cook and do laundry. She is not a quitter to me.

Again, going to go into Gundam fanboy mode to say

Lt. Emma Sheen - Zeta Gundam - Sure, she's an oldtype, but she still doesn't let people give her crap over it. Matched only by Bright for the most corporal punishment tactics. Bonus points for being one of the only Titans to realize the organization was being excessively brutal, as well as getting a quality Gundam out of the deal.
