I've realised something about Gundam Wing...

It sucks.

I mean, it dosn't just suck, I've definatly seen much worse anime. However, Gundam Wing is the embodyment of generic anime. When 'non-anime likeing poeple' think of anime, they'll think of Gundam Wing. Gundam Wing is the anime stereo type.

Think about this...
Cheezy zingy sound effects.
Giant robots destroying all that stand in their way.
Angsty characters who say and doing unrealistic, supposivly deep meaningfull things. 'Real soldiers do not hurry for the rewards' or Relena saying 'My name is Relene Dorin, nice to meet you' when there is no one there, excluding four unconsious EMTs and an ambulance racing away.

Thusly... It must die. Get the flame throwers, we're going to Bandai HQ. :\

hahaha it took u this long to figuer that out. yes gundam wing sux but i find it to be my favorit of all the gundams but i think all the gundams suck so i guess u could say its the best of the worst.

No, because the anime stereo type involves Giant Robots. Sure DBZ is better known, but anime is known for it's Giant Robots. Remember the early brought over series? Robotech, Transformers, Astroboy? Robots, robots, ROBOTS!

I'm going to have to say that, even though Wing isn't one of best out there, it's still one that I enjoy. If I didn't see this, I probably wouldn't have given Gundam a chance at all. Sure, Wing is like a cliff notes version of the original Gundam, but it's still enjoyable to some degree. Epyon totally rocks, by the way.

I can't believe no one else got that. Relena was basically spooked by some stranger who hid his face and beat up people who tried to help him out. Introducing herself to no one is what she would have said if Herro didn't act the way he did. It's basically her way of saying, well, that was a fine how do you do.

Gundam Wing gets better as the story progresses, you should probably see more of the show if you already haven't.

Although my favorite gundam is Gundam X, by far.

Also, DBZ is not the worst anime... There's tons worse than DBZ...

And the Pokemon movies are actually GOOD... Especially the third one....

YES! Another who sees it...still some things to point out:

Koji is right, Wing is not exactly THE anime stereotype show out there (Hell, it's still stuck behind a long line including DBZ, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Sailor Moon)
Nevertheless, in its own right, it HAS resulted in a good deal of misconception (many of us in the Gundam fan community get a good deal pissed since US audiences, who got exposed to Wing first, tend to dismiss the Universal Century series off the bat for the older animation, while, if one looks, Wing is prettymuch a soulless version of UC, same events, less sympathy for the soldiers involved.)

Anyways...Izumi, you forgot one more stereotype Wing plays off of (one which has gotten pretty annoying of late) the glut of 'pretty' characters (Those boys could pass for women WAY too f---ing easily thank you very much...one would want to believe soldiers trained by a secret organization would look a little less...well...delicate and a little more battle-worn...)

Anyways...in closing, does the series suck...IMO yes (yes, yes, we all see the irony in my username...)
Is it misleading hordes of people on what anime is...not really no, Hell, you ask most newcomers to anime, you'll hear more said about Cowboy Bebop, EVA, and Kenshin, than you will about Gundam...
