I Still Love Dragonball Z!
I still love Dragonball Z(the japanese version) and no other anime has hit my heart like this series..
I don't like when people say, "move on, Dbz is aweful, you're such a newbie to anime if you think that's the best series...their are WAY better things out there."
Not all dbz fans are new to anime, I've been into it for YEARS and yet dbz is still my favorite.
Well that's all I had to say, i'm just sick of everyone putting the show down, acting like it's nothing special. It lasted 12 years in japan and is popular worldwide, hell, it's been dubbed in almost every language you can think of. I know it'll never be forgotten..never ever...
Why do so many people in the world like it if it's such a HORRIBLE anime.. ? Like others have said, you really need to sit down and watch the WHOLE show before you can pass judgement.
Sure the fights last a long time.. but who cares? That doesn't ruin the series as a whole.. plus, if you REALLY KNOW the characters, the fights can be extremely fun to watch.. it never bugged me.. but I also don't watch the dub either.. Funimation ruined the characters, the fights, the heart.....and everything else in between.
Well I guess you can post here if you want, i'm expecting flames..lol..please don't, stay calm with me ok? Thanks, it's just my opinion.

I don't mind. Good for you. Hope you enjoy it.
No, I don't enjoy much of it lately, but hey - whatever floats your boat. Just make sure you like it for the right reasons...
And don't let the flamers get to you. I think it's a given that a lot of people dislike DBZ and will agressively try to impose that view on others.
Cheers etc.

I must certainly agree with you SSJ. Dragonball Z was my favorite for a very long time, just recently I started to like Evangelion more, but Dragonball Z is still easily my 2nd favorite. With such great characters, action, plot, music, and seiyuu, it's a superb series. Bejiita is IMO one of anime's greatest characters.
Look at all my trials and tribulations

Don't disturb me now, I can see the answers
'Till this evening is this morning, life is fine.

VEGETA is the MAN!!!!!
Love whatever you want to. DBZ won't win any culture or sophistication awards but it is at least entertaining the first time around...
But...
The Majin Bu saga lasted waaaaay too long and very little happened in each episode other than alot of worrying/fighting and the ever-present expressions of shock and fear.
I liked the stuff with the androids best, specialy 18

I love parts of the anime. ^_^ I admit, I haven't seen all of it and I don't *want* to watch all of it. But of the parts that I like, I *really* like them. There are certain arcs and episodes that I love more than YYH (my current obsession), so it's still one of my high ranking favorites as far as characters go.
As for the mass depreciation of the anime - like the first person noted, it's very well known. The more people subjected to an anime, the more hardcore fans promoting the anime, the more people there will be who live only to denounce that anime. Call them bored, but some can't stand to see other people have their own opinions. Others just like to feel superior for having 'better' taste. Usually it just means they're closeminded idiots hiding behind a front. You get that with anything.
I just find it nice to see fans stand up for it (like that anti-Gundam Wing thread) - I'm all for free choice in preferred anime. ^_^;;

Well said Arigatomyna.
However, I'll add that though I'm certainly not a fan, I don't mind standing up for people's rights to like it.
Even if I will sometimes tease them regarding their reasons for liking the show.
