the visuals of final genesis

Post by bum » Tue Dec 02, 2003 6:18 am

ok i just read a review of nge and the shithead reviewer was all being a fucking dick and bitching about the visuals of final genesis (the original ending). to he honest, considering the whole nature of final genesis, if it had any more (any, at all :P ) animation than it does then it simply would have ruined the whole atmosphere. i mean, try imaging watching final genesis if the characters actualy moved around. it just wouldnt be right, it would make it realy stupid.

Actually I think the Shinji's World sequence had ample animation movement.

Anyone who doesn't like the TV ending is weird by my standards. It might even be my favorit 2 episodes, or atlest top 10, with one of them being #1 or 2. I love EoE also, of course, but the series wouldn't be as great if it didn't have both endings.

I'm pretty sure you'll drag Milo out of lurking and get his "opinion" on the matter, if that doesn't work just send him a PM with a link to the topic. He'll have plenty to say.

Shinji's World... Starring Shinji and Kensuke... creepy.

But I really can't blame Gainax for the less than satisfactory animation.

Hideki Anno: Now time for the epic finale to our high budget uber classic anime.
Mr Moneybags: Uh Mr Anno, i'm from the Bank, we're here to reposess your house, you posessions, and your Nekokoneko plushie.
Hideki Anno: Damn... well I have those posicle sticks i was going to use on Kare Kano....

I like the original ending's animation. It has a sense of style that escapes me explaining it, but still catches my interest.

There are two kinds of people in this situation.

Type A would see the scene where Rei and Asuka are in an elevator and there's absolutely no action for like 3 minutes, and they'd say "Bah, that's cheap. Isn't this suposed to have action in it?"

Type B, however, would say "That was genius! I'm going to go send Anno $50 just because that scene was so awsome!"

I call Type B the kind of person that might listen to "Last Dance" or other obscure Neil Young songs and say "Oh hello Mr. Soul, I just dropped by to pick up a reason."

It's been six years now already, allright? Evangelion is dead. They released the movies (A fucked up release not to mention), it's over, it's dead. Every possable aspect of the series has been argued to oblivion, you have sufficently beaten, raped, and milked the dead horse. Just let it die.

Just get you're Evangelion T-shirt, some red eyecontacts, dye your hair blue, and live alone in a closet untill you die of loserness, let it rest allready.
