Funimation DOES NOT have the rights to One Piece

Contrary to popular belief, they do not. And they never did. Apparently there was a misunderstanding.

this both excites and troubles me. On the one hand this means I can go for fansubs guilt free, and a better company than Funi might get the rights to it.

On the other hand, those anime-killers known as 4Kids Entertainment might get it! That really really scares me.

I've never seen onepeice, but i hear it's the only running show in japan thats more popular then Naruto right now. I've heard it's also quite good. Well i hope a good distributor grabs it (i have similar hopes for Green Green)

The manga is quite teh funny, all in all it's a very good read.
The strange, retro-ish style makes it even more appealing.

I like reading One Piece, where did you read it El Banana? I read it in Shonen Jump....there I said it!

Green Green looks teh funny (btw it has a game)

Also, UFO Princess Walkurye looks funny as well, actually just about every new anime mention in Weird Screen Caps looks good to watch.

Yep, it's the most popular anime in Japan right now. Sort of filling the gap that DBZ left when it ended. Although it's similar to DBZ (lots of fighting) I think it is tens of times better than DBZ.

I hope somebody like Pioneer gets it. The only ones I wouldn't want to get their hands on it are Funi and 4Kids.

I agree that the art style is very different and distinct. It actually turned me off for a while, but as I kept reading it grew on me and now I like it. Nice to see some experimentation with art style there.
