So what is your personal best anime so far?

I'd have to say my most memorable were....not in any particular order....
*Patlabor 1 & 2
*Roujin Z
*Wings of Honnaemise
*Giant Robo - which i really really loved!!...Ginrei *sigh*
*Mononoke Hime
and i'm gonna say it...you knew it was comming...DB/Z/GT

Plus many more!!!

Thats my top 5 but i have seen alot of other ones. Also i'm going to buy a box set of either Escaflowne or Rahxephon. But I don't know which one is better, any suggestions?

My personal best anime yet conceived is Neon Genesis Evangelion. It filled everything I want in a series, superb characters, superb animation, superb background music & music in general, superb plot, superb philosophy, and everything else about it is good too.

This is so hard to say, because a year ago it would have been Ninja Scroll, 9 months ago love hina, 6 months ago Neon Genesis Evangelion, 3 months ago Outlaw star and more recently Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2 and Full Metal Panic. I'm amazed how everytime I think I've seen the greatest anime ever, I always find something to pass it up ; ).

I vote for almost anything by Gainax (particularly Eva and FLCL) for the mind rape, Cowboy Bebop for action, and Fruits Basket for comedy/romance. There are just too many genres within anime to pull out just one all-time best.
