Cosplaying
I'm not sure if there's ever been a post on this before, but I'm thinking about attending my first anime convention next year and I'm really curious about cosplaying. How many people do it? Is it very popular? Where would you find some good gear?
Also, my brother is a weapons fanatic and he'd like to know where he can find some good cosplay guns. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Some of the worlds greatest airsoft weapons:

Of course, most cons won't allow replica firearms, since of course, they look perfectly real, as in, real enough to get the police to shoot at you.
But hey, if you wanna do photography or film work, then this is the way to go. He he.

hey,
There's been many threads on cosplaying and the common atmosphere on the Org about cosplaying is to be a general sense of "that is the evil."
anyway, I don't think it really matters unless you really suck at cosplaying. Note that "man faye" is not a great example to follow, if you know waht i mean.
anyway, choose what you will and remember the only words that matters:
Have fun!

I do not see how this one could be viable.

A 5.56mm Nato round fired from a small, short weapon without a stock. You'd never hit anything if it was real.

Be advised that the AMV Community and the Cosplay Community are sworn enemies of each other.
It was but a year ago that a covert band of AMVers from this forum launched a haphazard raid into the forums of cosplay.com, wreaking havok for nearly an hour.
The memory of that incident still burns in the memories of both sides.

I have nothing agianst cosplay, if it's done well. I love finding galleries of Japanese cosplayers recreating scenes from anime. I found a GREAT Noir set, every peice of the costumes were dead on, the models had the right look, and they reenacted the scenes in a parking garage and run down, classy hotel.

So does that mean only Japanese people can look good cosplaying, even though most anime characters do not look Japanese in the first place.DJ_Izumi wrote:if it's done well. I love finding galleries of Japanese cosplayers recreating scenes from anime.
