The moral of the story.
As with many book authors, anime and manga creators often lay in morals that they feel strongly about. While it may be more evident in some than others, and there may be more than one in the same work. Understanding these can often lead to greater understanding of the show at large.
What then, are some messages that some animes try to say.
(Please include references and examples to back up why you think this so, and of course placing them in spoiler tags).

Rayearth season one: WE CAN ALL BE FRIENDS!
Ironically enough, I can't really think of any moralizing things off the top of my head. Though I suppose Love Hina's about making your own destiny, based off the outcomes with the promise girl and all that.

Hmmm....*inserts part of a report about Chobits I did for lit*
Contains some spoilers I think....
"Personally, I find this manga series very moving. Putting all the technological business aside, it also focuses on the theme of love and the question of what love is. One of the main distinctions between Chi and other persocoms is that she cannot have sex, because she would reset herself ( a rather interesting location for a reset button) and would lose her memory. The main question posed at the end of the series is whether or not Hideki can be satisfied with this and still love Chi. It brings about this entire argument of whether it’s possible to have a relationship without getting physical in any way. Is the feeling of love enough? This is also explored with the various other characters who fall in love with their persocoms and then go so far as to marry or use them as substitutes for people who have died. When I look at this in the context of evaluating love, I think that the persocoms are people sought out to replace a real love experience. They are “programmed” to be like what the owner has lost and act in manners to make that person happy while never sharing any real true feeling of love, thus empty of pure emotion, like the computers. It is not until the owner can begin to distinguish between the two that they can fully enjoy such a relationship; like Hideki and Chi. In that sense I find the story to be a rather critical reflection on the expectations of love, something nearly anybody can identify with. "

Love Hina:
-Never give up and never surrender on ur dreams.
-Real friends will always be there for u no matter wat
Ah! My goddess:
-Love is strong, never under estimate love
...
those are the things i found and could think of for now ...

Ah! My Goddess:
- Promises are meant to be kept (Think about the ring...)
- No one can erease those in your life who are most important to you, no matter how hard they try. (Again, think of the episode 4&5, and also Celestine's part in the movie...)
- Love conquers all. (duh!)

Vandread: Men and women should "combine" often and with more than one partner
Chobits: Dumpster diving can be very rewarding and thus is nothing to be ashamed of.
Dragon Ball Z: Teaches that death is not to be feared - when you perish, you are "transfered to another dimension".
Gatchaman, Voltron, etc.: Teams composed of three guys, a chick and a kid represent the most efficient form or human organization.
GTO: Lecherous, mal-educated punks make better teachers than bald principals or sociopathic graduates of Tokyo University.
Princess Nine: In a similar vein, lecherous, alcoholic men are ideal for coaching an all-girl baseball team.
Sakura Tsuushin: Kissin' cousins? OK.
Fruits Basket: High School girl cohabiting with three guys and she's familiar with their most intimate secrets? Also OK.
El Hazard: Demonstrates the banality of evil (reference to Jinnai).
Saint Tail: Theft is justified if you pray before you do it.
Yu-Gi-Oh: If you believe in your dueling deck, it'll never let you down, even if the universe is about to be destroyed or something.
G-Gundam: Trashing the Earth is a good way to decide who is going to run the affairs of humanity.
FLCL: Don't get hit in the head, it can have serious consequences.
I, My, Me, Strawberry Eggs: Dressing up in drag can be very beneficial for one's professional advancement.
Pet Shop of Horrors: Always read the fine print of any contract you sign.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: Damned if I know!!
