Which Anime has the best music?

Post by Lord Tarrant » Sun Jan 11, 2004 4:40 pm

This is just a general survey kinda thing. Which anime do you think has the best music? Inuyasha has its action/romance/comedy music in turns, Bebop has its completely unique style that I must say fits very well with the series and DBZ has that action/macho/never be defeated kinda theme goin. What other series have music that fits it really well?

Hmm, pretty tough question. I probably go for the music Yoko Kanno composed for Escaflowne (that includes both the TV series and the movie). I also like the techno mixes in Initial D (as long I don't hear that "music" from that "tricked" version :x ).

That's kind of a tough one. I personally in the case of songs, would vote Gravitation, the series is full of this fun ubbeat techno music, it's what got me hooked on J-pop.

In the sense of an actual soundtrack, I love the Slayers Perfect/Motion Picture soundtrack. It has an awesome variety of instrumentals with different moods that I can listen to for hours.

Utena has some really good music, especially the background music for the various duels. Even the movie had some great music.

Noir, FLCL and Haibane Renmei each have their own distinctive styles of music. Getting the OST's is very much recommended. :)

Last Exile has hands down the best OST to any anime EVER.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab
