Integra from Hellsing
Over the weekend I watched a few animes all the way through, I My Me Strawberry Eggs, Dragon Half, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Angel Sanctuary, and Hellsing.
Integral/Integra was my favorite character from Hellsing. I was trying to figure out why she was in jail in the last episode. Maybe I just wasn't paying good enough attention.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Also the subtitles kept changing between Integra and Integral, so I wasn't sure which one her name is.

Ok. It's still kind of confusing to me though. If she was going to get arrested for releasing Alucard, it seems like that would have happened years earlier.
I didn't know Hellsing was supposed to get shut down though. I knew that there were rumors it was a terrorist group, but the Queen knew better, right?

Not that its a major spoiler, but, be warned if you havent finished the series anyone.
In the last 2 episodes, Hellsing was set up in three ways by the round table group. The first was the misinformation that led to their dispatch to protect the queen when she wasnt even at the supposed location. The second was the attack by Incognito and his undead army, likely under the command of someone in the group. The third was the military action taken by Britain's military because they were told, incorrectly, that Hellsing had gone rogue and was trying to kill the queen. For this last reason, Hellsing was wanted for High Treason. Of course, Hellsing did fully unleash Alucard, but it wasnt neccessarily illegal, and besides, when the alternative is sending London to Hell, its unlikely they would have the intellectual bankruptcy to prosecute her for saving them.
So, pretty much, at the end of the last episode, she was in Jail. Why wouldnt she be? She never proved that she was set up and thus never proved her innocence, although it was said in a narrative that the bad seed was caught and dealt with, whatever that means. Actually now that I think about it, Hellsing forces didnt attack or even fight back against the UK military, and the queen herself knows she wasnt being endangered by hellsing because she wasnt there. So any charges of Treason would have to be dropped. I doubt it was trouble over Alucard, if it was then why would he be allowed to so casually visit Integra in her jail cell? So why is she in Jail? She must have wanted a different place to stay for a while. ^ ^

Probably the queen put her there for secrecy reasons. Even though Integra is Innocent, she and her organization are treated as criminal's to keep the general public unaware of what just occured at the Queens Palace. So, whatever happened there they could just blow off as "The Hellsing forces invaded the queen's palace, unleashed some weird high tech device that cut london tower in half, but were ultimatly driven back by UK forces with minimal losses"
Basically, a good case of the 'Deny Everything' effect and redirecting of blame to Hellsing.
