Manga to Anime

Post by Youkai_Lady » Tue Apr 20, 2004 3:43 pm

I know most ppl prefer the Manga to the Anime (as I do as well) but can you think of one where you prefered the Anime to the Manga? Well I believe the Trigun Anime was better then the manga (I hate the way they draw Vash! Grrr...)Also I enjoyed the Kenshin Anime to the Manga.

Uh....maybe Outlaw Star?

Though the manga and anime are almost completely different.

You didn't like the Trigun manga?

The show was good, but the manga is really good.

C'mon, its drawn by the creator, Yashiro Nightow (Naito)-san himself, so its the most canon thing there is in the Trigun universe.

Also, I'm guessing you haven't gotten to Trigun Maximum yet have you?

Contrary to popular belief, Trigun Maximum is not a new series, but simply a continuation of the Trigun manga. But don't let that trow you off, Trigun Maximum is worth it.

I'm currently collecting the Trigun manga (Trigun 1-2, Trigun Maximum 1-4)

Oh and to add to the original topic, I think Evangelion is better in anime, but then again I haven't read much of the manga.

Well, it's a moot point asking me, because I prefer anime to manga. I love manga and I do read it, it sucks how the anime adaptin usually has key elements missing, but I love to expereince the show with the whole package, it's more satisfying for me.

But anyway, as far as an anime directly doing something better than the anime, I'd say the Hellsing anime did way better with the manga stories that where turned into the first 3 episodes.

Fushigi Yuugi! Well... I never got past the very beginning whereas I started wacthing the anime partway through, so maybe that's not a fair comparison.

I was also turned off by the art styles in the FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and Inu Yasha mangas.

...that's about it so far.

Cowboy Bebop - but I think the anime came before the manga. Same for Gundam Wing, which does a lot of random jumping around at certain moments. If I hadn't seen the anime first I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on.

well if you're basing it partially on how kule the artwork is, then Ghost in the Shell would qualify imo, movie is FAR superior.. bigger artwork gag then Trigun

also the manga for Blackjack is very very different looking, if you haven't seen it before, the entire manga looks exactly like the little girl does in the movie.. those of you that have seen the movie.. maybe a pic would help

manga

...okay, so maybe the hair doesn't look different, but everything else does

anime

Evangelion manga was made AFTER the anime, so the artwork is almost the same, but the manga hasn't been released all the way through, so i can't really compare the meat and potatos of this series yet... and for some reason, the manga by Viz is being released in a different packaging.. it's just odd and confusing when i'm trying to buy the whole thing

i like the FLCL manga... very appropriate... but hard as hell to read
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D

I generally like the anime better than the manga - the sound, color, and motion just make everything come alive better for me.

I think that the manga is just like the script to anime the artist or the produsers change it just a bit to see if your paying attention. I personly like the manga version of some of my favret anime naruto is one in particuler.
Only time I say no is if someone asks if I've had enough.
