Funimation Ruins Everything

I swear I hate Funimation. They get the rights to DragonBall, Z, GT and they totally make them like crap. I saw GT the other night, and it just plain sucked to the point where i couldn't get sleep that night. Although i didnt like GT in japanese, the english version was 20x worse than the original japanese...They also piss me off with their DVD Releases. Every month or 2 they decide to release a new cell games dvd(with only 3 episodes)and they take months to release new movies. They still havent put out all the boxsets yet...Why does funimation suck so much? These people piss me off

. True they totally butchered the Dragonball series. But they did a pretty good job on Fruits Basket and Yu Yu Hakusho. They did an okay on Blue Gender ( I didn't really care for the series, it depressed me). Such is my opinion anyway.

They have other things to dub besides DB nowadays.

I agree with you that all the DB dubs sucks, but FUNimation has done a decent job with everything else they have dubbed. Do you want to know the reason why DB sucks so much? In my opinion, when Funimation first started out they weren't interested in showing the US anime, just a show that kids would like and would make alot of money. So that's why the changed it to make it appropriate for kids, which totally sucks for us. And their other dubs aren't bad because i think they are starting to realize that it is not nice to mess up anime, and anime is meant for teens and older, and not kids. But i can totally relate on DBZ....i will never forget every time i heard "Mondo cool" lol.....

...really? Rice balls don't even LOOK like donuts.

Oh, and 4 Kids apparently is going to turn Tokyo Mew Mew into "Hollywood Mew Mew" (I didn't watch the show, but that's pretty lame)

the only shows i've seen by funimation would be YYH and Fruits Basket..and i really don't like the dubbing they did. In yyh, i love yusuke's voice. But i really REALLY didn't care for anyone else...kurama sounds too....well...i love his japanese voice, so i guess just havin such a manny voice in english sounds weird...(and same with yuki....) and hiei, he doesn't sound evil enough

*sigh* i'm so picky...

Fruits basket wasn't the greatest either...i really hated what they did with yuki, shigure and tohru's voice. But i guess i am a little biased simply because i generally prefer the original version to any dub.

There are a few shows out there that have great dubs, but no matter how good the dubbing is it will NEVER be as good as the original. That's just how it is.

I remember buying the YYH movie and watching it subbed because the dub voices were different from those on the show, which bothered me. It was SO different.

That's because the YYH Movie is released by Media Blasters, not FUNimation.
