Does the anime of Ceres Celestial Legend live up to manga?

Post by Nienna Elentari » Thu May 27, 2004 1:42 am

I am currently reading the manga of Ceres Celestial Legend and so far I love it! I can't put it down, I take it every where with me just in case I have a couple of minutes to read it! I even took it when I was getting my car's oil changed and the guys looked at me like I was crazy! (picture: girl comes out of suped up car... reading manga) needless to say did I get some looks!

Anyway, I heard that the anime itself is pretty good and I haven't seen any of them and I was wondering if it lives up to the greatness of the manga. What are your thoughts on the anime.. good or bad; just like your honesty please! shanks ^_^

I've read the manga and seen the anime. I loved both very much.

The anime actually follows the manga setup fairly closely. Obviously some things got left out, and Aya and Tooya's budding relationship gets sped up due to time constraints. After all they're trying to pack the 14 volume manga into just 24 half hour episodes. What results is that some of the main and side characters aren't as developed in the anime or not shown at all. For instance, in the manga, Shuro, the singer of the band Gesang gets VERY much involved with Aya and the others in the quest for the hagoromo, but is only shown for like one episode in the anime. :/

Tooya has more of a sense of humor in the manga. There's just more humor in the manga in general. Although it's still pretty dark. If you like the manga, chances are you'll enjoy the anime too.

Never read the manga, but I liked the anime. Even made a video for it.

No problem. :) Just out of curiosity though, which manga volume are you up to?

You should definitely watch the anime when you're done with the manga. Both are amazing! I felt the manga was better, but the anime is still very much worth watching.
