Arjuna. worth buying ? what about crest of the stars ?
some net sites say this anime is awsome, some people i know on the net say its crap. i generaly like stuff with a load of emotion and strong characters and story, though action is allways good, as long as its not repetitive and overdone. so, should i get it ?
and ditto that whole last paragraph about crest of the stars. i just got it today. was it worth it ?

Crest is pretty good. Its really story driven. Its a sci fi unlike most other anime sci fi shows. It seriously tries to be as realistic as possible. Its action scenes are well thought out and extremely different from what your probably used too. If I had to compare it to anything I would say Star Trek, but with teenagers as the focus.

If you enjoy good sci fi (Larry Niven, for instance), then you will probably love crest/banner of the stars. very smart sci fi with great dialouge and story, character development and relationships. It's one of my all-time faves, animated or not.
It seems Arjuna has a love hate relationship with many people. Personally, I'm on the love side. It has Yokko Kano's best work, great animation and a wholly original story. I'd imagine some people may find the afterwards preachy, but my father lives that way out in Oregon, so its got at least some truth to it. Anyway, what really draws my into Arjuna is the love story within. Very believable and sweet, and I found the way they reacted once the superpower stuff got introduced the true heart of the story.
Your mileage may vary,
Tom

Yea, that's about what I'd say. I do like it a lot myself.Tom the Fish wrote: It seems Arjuna has a love hate relationship with many people. Personally, I'm on the love side. The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Likewise. And hey, if they watch it on Macross Zero, it has to be pretty neat :pOtohiko wrote:Yea, that's about what I'd say. If you like Blue Seed then you will probably like Arjuna. I had mixed feeling about it my self, but her bow is bad ass enough to say that it is worth watching. I think that I seen it at best but for less the 40 bucks.
As for crest of stars I have only seen a few episodes, but I was board to tears. What I seen was the dubbed version, I hate dubs. I guess I should try to watch it subbed.
