Who's in the mood for a story??

Hey hey all. First off I'ld like to say that I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot but if not I apologize in advance.

So, seeing a couple of posts recently I've decided I'm going to put my story for a manga/anime/whatever, down in print. Just wanted to get some input from people as to how you think the best way to do it. I have a current Weblog that I update on a daily basis, I could post it little by little there. OR, I could just post it in my journal on this site. What I plan on doing is typing up little bits at a time so the readers can get a taste of it kindof if they were watching it and deciding if they wanted to see the next episode. Now I know that its not exactly a good idea to just put intelectual property out there for just anyone to see, so before I do it I'm going to check a couple things about copyright protection. I was told by a friend at work today that if you do something as simple as put "copyright and a date and name" at the bottom of every writing sample that would protect it, but I dont quite think thats right. So I'll be cheking into it more before I definitly do this.

Primarily I'ld like to do this though so I could get some input from readers about two things. 1> How do they like it and if it were an anime/mange would they buy into it? 2> Minor feedback and constructive criticism. I'ld like to know what my readers think of the story before I put forth the majority of effort into making a manga or actual book out of it.

So what I'ld like for people to do here for me is twofold. First I need to know where you would prefer to see it so everyone can read it and make comments as feedback about it. Here on this site in my journal? Or on a weblog site? Or??? Second, do you think its a good idea and would anyone be interested in reading some original work that could possibly turn into something more in the future?

Can't wait to see some comments people so give it a go, I can take it, I know the feasability of making an actual anime is slim to none. But making a book or manga is MUCH more feasable. Also I'll make it known to people right now. My major in school is Computer Graphics Imagery, and I already have some contacts in the field I could get to help me get something of somekind of demo or something going if it comes down to that. So yes I do know quite a bit about making this all happen. Thanks in advance for the advice guys.

i think it would be best in a weblog.
its not a bad idear and i think that i would read it if its thourght out well.

You should type it all out on word or something, then you can copy/paste it to wherever you want it on the web. I think what most people at the org recommend for fanfic is fanfiction.net Post your story there, the just give us a link in your sig or something. It would be the epitome of perfection in its simplicity!

thanks for the response, ill check out the fecfic site when i get back from breakfast or maybe just at work tomrrow. ill say this tho, its prolly not going to be real soon that i do this bcuz right now its still just all in my head and ill want to start writing some out before i post it so its not a complete rough draft, but depending on how the fan fic site looks ill prolly start pretty quick tho..thanks again

ok ok, yes yes, www.fictionpress.com is the bomb. i check out both it and www.fanfiction.net and i came to the conclusion that fictionpress is better for two reasons. fictionpress automatically copyrights all materials as original work, and fanfiction.net is only for work about specific things, not for truly original work. so for all those who have read this post keep an eye out for a new post soon with a link to my www.fictionpress.com story.
