I am not sure, but I think it is the same case as with Cowboy Bebop. The author of the story felt it should end there.

I've read some of the manga contnueing after the anime stoped and I hope that they make a second season.

When I was at Gonzo in January, they showed us a trailer for Hellsing 2. I'm pretty sure that it can't get any clearer than that.

Doubtful it was a season 2 trailer. Something as popular as Hellsing would have been announced. Most likely you watched the "Psalm of Darkness" trailer which is the first season. Many people mistake it for a season 2 trailer.

As far as the rumor goes, I doubt a second season will come about. It is relatively new and the chance stands but the anime's lack of popularity in Japan leads to the belief that a second season wont come about. I dont really care either way, if you want to see more the manga is always available and from what I read more enjoyable.

So far that I've heard Kohta Hirano wishes to hold off making a season 2 until he finishes the manga.

Currently, there are 6 volumes with new chapters being serialized monthly in Young King Ours. It is curently on chapter 54 with no signs of ending soon. This is as of the July '04 issue.

Oh and as a little hint, Seras goes beserk again, but this time with bad-ass new powers.....kinda like Alucard with the black uniform and all....

I do have volumes 1-6, and YKO isues Oct. 2003 to July 2004. So if you have any questions about the manga, I can try to help.
