Shampoo from Ranma
Just today, three topics were locked because of me. I'm afraid I'll be banned from the forum. THAT'S WHY THERE SHOULD BE AN"OFF-TOPIC TOPIC" If there already is one, plz send me a link to it.
So, here's the discussion: Shampoo gave Ranma the Kis of Death when he was a male, which means they were supposed to marry each other. And she starts calling him her fiancee. Out of the blue, she begins to call him her airen (husband, in Chinese). So, did they, like, consumate the wedding? Yes or no?

And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

I think the question is on topic. This is for general anime discussion. The discussion if this is off topic, is off topic.
No, Ranma and Shampoo never consumated the marriage. To Shampoo they are as good as married, since she was defeated in combat by an outsider in accordance by Amazon law and custom. But there was never any ceremony and no legal Japanese recognition.
Reminds me of friends who are already referring to their boyfriends as the 'husband.'

The reason your threads got locked was probably because they were pointless. The what would happen if Ranma got pregnant question is something no one can really answer, and the sexiest Ranma girl one was kind of pointless(Even though it gave me and excuse to post my favorite screen cap again). The reason that thread was pointless? We have plenty of who is the hottest anime girl threads pop up without having ones for individual shows.

well, airen doesnt necessarily mean husband in chinese. in mandarin, airen just means "loved one." im just nitpicking though.
When I was a kid, my father only gave me a brick to play with. If I complained about the brick, he would dropkick me in the throat and I'd realize how ungrateful I was being...

I didn't know that airen could take up other meanings. And YES, the topics were locked for being pointless (which they were). Well, I guess that wraps it up, then. Thank you, LEIFei.

That from the creator of Ranma when someone asked her the same question.

No, she gave Ranma the kiss of death when Ranma was a female. That is why every time Ranma turns into a female, Shampoo runs after 'em in an attempt to beat the crap out of him/her.So, here's the discussion: Shampoo gave Ranma the Kis of Death when he was a male, which means they were supposed to marry each other. Once Ranma (Male) defeated Shampoo, then she gave him a kiss of somethin'. Forgot the name, but that's when she considered him her Fiancee.
