Anime turning into Live Action movies

The directors at Hollywood are in the planning stages of making Dragon Ball Z and Evangelion into live action features. I've even heard rumors that they were talking about a Sailor Moon Live action Movie. Very little information is known about the EVA live action, and almost none is known about the DBZ live action. I also know about the new Sailor Moon sereies is also Live Action. So, my question to you is: what are your thoughts on turning some of our most popular anime into non animated movies? Do you think it would destroy the anime? Or would it make the anime even more popular? My personnal thoughts on this subject, is that anime is anime, and it should stay that way. In other words, I don't like the idea of turning anime into live action movies, I honestly think that it would ruin the show. You can't do things in real life that you can do in a anime. If you try to do something that's phisically impossible and put into a real movie, it just doesn't have the same feel to it as in the anime. Well, I think that is enough from me. Voice your opion on this important matter.

My personal opinion is this: Hollywood is low on ideas. So they go to American classics like literature, history, comic books, and legends.

Since anime has a lot of creativity they have largely untapped, it's very appealing.

To me it would depend on how well they do the anime. i saw the japanese live action sailor moon, and it is pretty good. it's just like with the comic book movies. some are good, some are honest to the fans, and some will suck. so as far as i care, it depends on the feature and how the people behind it approach it.

oh and on an additional note.
DBZ project was cancelled
Studio WETA is doing the designs for Eva
Lupin the 3rd and Initial D are also in preps for the live action

GTO is live action in Japan. look for it

maybe its just me but, salior moon is already got a live action couterpart, came across it when i was downloading stuff off of the guentla network. it was made in japan not usa but its live action and i watched a bit of it and... didn't like it, (though sailor moon wasn't my fav anime to begin with)

i seen a cheap u.s. live action making of sailor moon. it was so fun just the look thay gave to make it look real... and besides anime is at a stage of prefection reached by the japanese. anime is the greatest creation of mankind, so naturally people will want to copy it and apply it to other things. it will by no means reach the level that anime is on, or ever come close, nothing else that man can make will out class anime. its as simple as that. it will just be fun to see how close thay come to the real thing

That's a horrible thing to say. if anime has reached perfection, then there's no point in watching it. it's like saying to every single anime creator, "ok what you're gonna do is now officially going to suck, so don't bother" anime... ANIMATION is an artform, ever changing, growing, and cannot reach an end point. don't EVER say it's perfect.

Eoe, everything you say is exactly the sort of thing I would have said when I was like ten or eleven. I just have to ask, how old are you?

As for anime being made into live-action films, I think that, as with everything, some will rock and some will suck. For the most part, I'd like to see more, just to see an anime being played out by real actors.
